If you have Full Screen set to On and set the resolution to some aspect ratio that's not 16:9, that could stretch the image in your driver. Try setting to a native monitor resolution like 1920x1080. If the problem persists, please let us know your Graphics settings in the game as well as the resolution of your monitor.
Edit: please verify you are you build 5630992 before re-checking. (See Diary thread.)
Once you see the "Day 2" post in our pinned "Diary" thread, get that version and let us know if it fixes it.

Please always state which build it is. "Most recent build" may mean a different thing depending on when you post that and/or when we read it. The build can be found on the Properties > Local Files dialogue in Steam.
Also, you can run 1920x1080 with fullscreen OFF to get windowed fullscreen. That may also help.
I am now on build 5653534 and the borders are displaying properly.
