The worst performance !!
Really bad .... guys, don't buy this! DLSS doesn't work. Even with FG + DLSS 30 FPS for a high end gaming rig. Stay away from this!

4090 => All to "ULTRA" + "DLSS" > "DLAA".
Just never enable "Frame Generation", and disable "MFAA" in Nvidia Control Panel, cause worst drop performance.

No FPS issue.
It seems like MFAA off helps to make it's better. I played about 8 minutes and had frame drops only on new locations loads. 4080s. With MFAA I had stutters every minute
I still have stutters, but less than before

I've found switching motion blur and film grain off have boosted the performance alot, its still a little choppy in some parts but definitely alot more playable. Other than that i haven't messed with the graphic settings really, i have it all set to high and DLSS quality.
Where? I hate film grain

Cap your fps at your average FPS

7800X3D, 4090, 32GB ddr5 Ram (EXPO,XMP3) B650 Tomohawk MB.

All settings maxed, Super ultra wide monitor 5120x1440 32:9 (using unreal unlocker 5) HDR, DLLS Quality, RT maxed. I get around 100 - 120 FPS. Looks awesome and runs smooth.

Problem lies with peoples potato PC's :D I think :)

i wonder what you consider a "potato" pc

my specs are slightly better than the RECOMMENDED on the store page and the game runs like ♥♥♥♥
yup i have the same exact build and the monitor but my game does not go above 70 fps and has weird drop performance issues.

The fact is that I don't know if it has Path Tracing, because I get the same FPS I got from Alan Wake 2 (NO FG)
Turn off dynamic resolution and frames will go up. For me it caused a lock at about 50 fps, now it is 90.

If cou cant even get 30 fps without fg + dlss you dont have a high end rig lmao
I have a 7800X3D and 4080 Super and this game is still stuttery as hell so it's definitely not just "potato PCs" having this issue. Check out the reviews as well, looks like it's a pretty widespread problem. It's too bad, I'm enjoying the game otherwise but the stuttering is really annoying. The average framerate is seemingly fine there's just a bunch of random stutters

I capped to 60fps (my fps 70-100fps), but it never helps with stutters. Even Sifu on unreal 4 engine still has stutters with 60fps cap even it can work 300fps.

PC: i5-13600KF, 32 GB DDR4 3600, NVIDIA RTX 4080 FE, Windows 11 Pro 24H2

I have found that the game runs better for me with the pagefiles left at 'system managed'. There's still noticeable hitches and stuttering which the game autosaves during scene transitions but these are significantly better than when I had the pagefiles selected for specific NVMe SSDs (which I did to free up space on other drives). I was literally getting 10 seconds per frame and a slideshow previously.

Now at least the game is playable and runs smoothly about 97% of the time. And since most of it is cutscenes anyway I have found that capping the game to 30 fps is perfectly fine and smooths out the performance even further as I want to prioritise max. graphics settings with max. RT for the most cinematic presentation.

I do think the game has shader compilation stutter though as initially I was experiencing stutters the first time I went through the prologue, which then cleared up when I played through it again (which is the classic sign of this issue). I have added some shader variable tweaks to the game's Engine INI file which I believe are helping reduce the stuttering although it is hard to know for sure.

My suggestion is to NOT enable MFAA in the NVIDIA control panel Global settings for two reasons:

1. I know from personal experience that MFAA can cause issues with some games, causing graphical glitches and even crashes, although this was some years ago and I cannot recall which games were affected.

2. MFAA only works with games that support MSAA anyway, as it effectively 'enhances' the existing anti-aliasing basically making 4X MSAA look like 8X MSAA, which these days is very few (The Casting of Frank Stone certainly doesn't) so there is no point in enabling it globally anyway.

You are right, MFAA disable doesn't help.
This game has random stutters. There are stutters even in the same room where nothing happens, just walking around.:( Much worse than WuKong

yeah yeah ....of course u do know better than most of the people here. Troll
I just launched Hellblade 2, and it works PERFECT! I can't see any stutters during the first 10 minutes of the game. I can't believe that Unreal 5 can work without stutters. Even Hellblade 1 has stutters
i was getting game crashes in cutscenes during extreme slowdowns while the scene was playing. it def has something to do with FSR and DLSS that needs to be fixed.

I shamefully switched to TSR and now my cutscenes no longer slowdown or freeze, and the games runs way better. This is on a 4070 Ti S
