Stop forgetting to turn off VR support
So tired of devs forgetting to uncheck VR support on Unreal Engine that is always ON by default. It's annoying these flat games launching Steam VR and firing up my headset unless I unplug it. Pay attention devs.. if your game doesn't have VR, turn it off.

It's a pain for people who has a headset setup.

No, the game has no VR support.
What I mean is, when you make a project in Unreal Engine, the VR feature is turned on by default. If the developer is not making a VR game, they need to make sure to disable VR on their game, otherwise it will automatically recognise it as a VR game and starts Steam VR and your headset. The game will still play on your monitor, but the audio will go into the headset (in the case of Index) and the game will also play inside the VR screens (just like a video).

Sure it's a known enough issue that devs should know to turn it off, but it does raise the question as to why Epic don't default it to off. It's not like the majority of games are made for VR so defaulting it to on is ridiculous behaviour.

Yeah, you're right. It should certainly be off by default.

Agreed! One of my biggest pet peeves, super annoying.

Haven't tried that. Certainly better than unplugging the thing.
