Killed my GPU

Hi guys, so i've played a little bit of the game and out of nowhere it suddenly froze and both of my monitors turned of (showed the no signal message). I manually had to restart my PC because everything froze. After i restarted it, my PC couldnt register my GPU anymore.
High end games like Wukong etc. run with good fps on ultra graphics and i brought my GPU only 2 years ago.

My PC specs:
amd radeon rx 6700 xt
12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400F 2.50 GHz
RAM 32 GB

Wait for it to cool down a bit before u turn on the pc again and pray that it works again and run a program that shows u temp. (sounds like temp) U have to watch out when u play some special games. I have noticed high temp with some supermassive games, but not only with them. and i have a slightly better setup. But playing such games on ultra with many things turned on can overheat your setup. i made some additional cooling for my gfx only for such games XD (also cleaning fans and the case does matter alot, but this game is not super good optimised for many systems rightnow)

my core temp while playing was around 60°C and it happened like 5 mins into gaming haha. So how do i fix it now, that my pc doesnt recognizes my GPU anymore

U would need much more things for someone to help u like screenshots from your device manager, Infos about your software setup and such. How old your card is would be good to know. I had similar thing happen to someone i know. putting new thermal paste on the gpu helped in the end but only for a while. Maybe his card was also damaged. If its a older card and u know how to do this try that maybe. If the card is new id rather send it back.

Did it happened in chapter 6 ? Because I have the exact same problem on chapter 6 when I have to interact with a key. Everytime I interract or get close to the key both my monitors get turned off, I have to reboot my pc and I have to reinstall the drivers (I also have a rx 6700 xt) to have my card working properly again. It is only happening in this game. At this point I think we will have to wait for the devs and/or AMD to know what's going on :(

sorry the warm temp are frying my head. So i deinstalled my driver and reinstalled it and now it works again. I restarted the game and after a few min it ♥♥♥♥♥♥ my pc again, so it doesnt recognize my GPU driver or w/e anymore. After reinstalling the driver for the second time my pc recongizes my gpu again.

I tried out another game and could play it with no problems for hours. So the problem is directly connected to the casting of frank stone.

Windows and gpu drivers are all up to date, but everytime i start the game it freezes after a few min and my pc stops recognizing my gpu. Other games are running perfectly fine and the paste + fan are fresh.

i never thought about it but it did actually happen after i tried interacting with the key haha.

bro i cant even get past the menu and it 100%s my 3080

for me on certain parts where it has to load levels or especially when it first loads up it makes my cpu sky rocket in temp in the 90C + range i even watched it go up to 100C at one time, i have to take off the front mesh grill of my pc for my temps to go back to normal , every other game my cpu is fine though lol from what i seen and experience though fsr with frame gen is the only way to play this with decent fps and when i put it in compatibility mode for windows 8 with full screen optimizations off it stopped all my crashing issues too. for some reason it works better in windows 8 mode lol

I have some news I did put the windows 8 compatibility mode on CastingFrankStone.exe in the game folder just like NomadNoboru said in this thread and I was able to finish the game without a single crash if it helps
