same here. there was an update around 270mb but nothing changed.

I've had no stutters since the update, but I've lost around 10-15 frames give or take
Ain't got nothing to do with you graphics card. How quickly a game loads it's levels and set pieces largely depends on your hard drive, RAM and CPU. Also using an SSD for gaming helps, though some games are just badly optimized.

Anyhow, chill, it ain't that serious. You can wait 2 seconds.

Actual GPUs can't handle next gen games. 4090 is basically an old gen card.
People are mention dynamic resolution may be the cause. Do you have this setting enabled or disabled by chance?

Turning off Dynamic Resolution helped me a lot. Playing on a 3060 with Ultra Settings, FSR3 with Frame Gen on 80-90 FPS (1080p). Before turning it off I got stutters and in dialogues/cutscenes I barely had 5 frames and it crashed on me

Same issue even on a 4090 bro, the game is super crappy.

Devil In Me had the same problems at launch stutter AF, I think the quarry had issues too and now it's 3 games in a row for Supermassive with graphic issues. Maybe laying off 30% of your staff wasn't the best idea cause we are dealing with a clear quality control issue and that's not the Supermassive i'm used to.

this game isn't even good like for real I finished it yesterday and was like ? that's it?
they re-use that boring mill location over and over. The characters were boring.

It’s because of the realtime shader cache compilation. The game doesn’t have the function to build the shaders when you opening the game, but instead it does that while you actually playing the game. For example if you load the game and you go in a new area where you never been before, it will most likely stutter because it’s building the shader cache (basically assets for the game such as objects/textures etc). The next time you go to the same place it won’t stutter because it has already these shaders from there, for that specific area.

waiting 2 seconds when a skill-check comes up and the game is stuttering basically forces you to miss it. It's pretty serious.

I'm playing on a 4070 Ti Super with basically no issues and an average of at least 80 FPS. Here is what I did, disable Ray Tracing if using frame gen which is kind of needed. Everything else can be maxed out. I personally set shadows down a notch from Ultra. Set CPU priority for the game in some way. I also downloaded the performance improvement mod on Nexus. I'm playing in 1440p with no issues

imagine having to download a mod in order to make a $40 game to work properly .
