Why Does steamvr keep opening when I open this game

for Some reason when I open the game steam vr keeps opening so I'm a bit confused

It's happening to me too and discord will detect the game as steamvr instead of frank stone. driving me nuts lol

They literally forgot to hit the little (this is a VR game) checkbox that is on by default in the unreal editor. This has been an issue in multiple ue4-5 games for a decade now and is the number one sign the porting team doesn't care.

This was driving me nuts too, In fear of it also impacting performance I uninstall SteamVR for the time being now.

There needs to be a setting in Steam to disable this globally in my opinion as I have just installed the SteamVR app ahead of using my PS VR2 with my PC using the adapter I picked up last week, and have found many Unreal Engine games opening up the SteamVR app even those all of them have no support for VR.

It wouldn't be so annoying if it didn't affect the performance but with the SteamVR app open some games seem to stutter more (more than normal for UE4/5 games anyway!). Yes, you can add -nohmd or whatever it is to the game's launcher options but this really should not be required.
