The Quarry vs The Casting of Frank Stone
I liked The Quarry and Heavy Rain, how compares to this game?

it's shorter.
Shorter, more confusing, characters die easier, seemingly from trivial decisions. In my opinion anyways.

Still worth playing though!

This game is horrible, unless you play on potato settings and do not care about issues. I have a 4090 and can not manage anything above 60 fps with 1440p. Stick with the Quarry or Untill Dawn, or any of their other games, this is straight trash.
The Quarry is better in every way. Longer, better writing, better optimization, better controls (which is pretty sad), and less annoying characters.

That's not to say this game is bad though, it's just a clear step back from The Quarry.

And The Quarry contains 600MB of adware in an .exe file that runs parallel with the game :steambored:

This is a decent game, with terrible optimization. That said, the Quarry is better. For what it's worth, I know that some of the achievements, here, will be much harder to get.

It could be due to expectations from the trailer and some of the lore which lead to my extreme disappointment.

But I sort of went in expecting a story revolving around humanizing the killer, the entity recruits and corrupts, I sort of assumed the game was going to about the entity choosing Frank Stone and corrupting him to be used hence "The casting of Frank Stone".

That is not what the game was and Frank Stone is barely in it.

I do put a bit of blame on myself for setting false expectation.

The Quarry the only one I almost liked as much as Until Dawn~ they are very close. This one may be on the lower end of interesting out of them all to me; story-wise. Very slowburn and not really a plot genre I favor, but saying which would be a spoiler.
