Great tower defense game with wonderful graphics and a nice amount of content. Comes with a useful skill tree and unlocks for upgrading towers along with things like drone units which one can control their placement and where they fire with the weapons which can be upgraded. Main base can be enhanced with a machine gun turret and extra armor. Voice acting is well done adding to the immersion alongside the great music, ui, lore, graphics and fun gameplay.

2112TD: Tower Defense Survival, BUY IT! PLAY IT! Deliver the violence upon these horrors from beyond!

I'm conflicted on this review. On one hand this has a nostalgia feeling from the OG tower defense days of Starcraft and it begins simple and fun enough to be worth buying. On the other hand... Being limited on where to build towers and later in the game when it seems that you are playing less of a tower defense game and more of a "i HAVE to place these exact towers at these exact locations and have them upgraded to this certain level by this exact wave" in order to progress really sucks the fun out of it. There's only 4 towers that can be placed and you can only place them where the game specifically allows you to.

More freedom from the game by letting you place towers wherever you wanted like most TD games are would go a long way in improving the fun of it... in my humble opinion.

Simple Tower Defense, 90s graphics, doesn't add much, but pure fun!

I've played this game since I first found it on google play years ago, I've loved every second of this game since, I've lost count of the times I %100 the game on my tablet and then reset my profile to start again. So giving them more money for a PC version was a no brainer for me, I'd be very happy to give them double or triple their asking price on both platforms!

That said let me be clear, this is NOT a tower spam type of tower defense (TD) game. This game requires you to understand your enemies weaknesses and patterns, your towers type and damage style, and the map layout. Basically if you consider yourself a SERIOUS TD fan boy you're gonna get a LOT of fun out of this game, if you're more casually minded about you're TD games you're, most likely, not gonna enjoy it, or at-least not as much anyway (Still, try it! I am often wrong, and a "review" is a opinion, don't let mine define you).

As an example, If you enjoy Defense grid but find the game a little "easy" and "repetitive" you're gonna enjoy this game alot. If you enjoy Defense grid and find it a "decent challenge" or "The perfect level of difficulty" you're, most likely, NOT going to love this game. (FYI nothing wrong with defense grid I love that game, I just needed a comparison and it was the closest)

This game gives you four basic towers, each tower can be upgraded to level 3 before you have to choose a experimental type of the base tower. Each experimental type is different then the other and from the base tower, from this you can have a variety of possible defense setups for each map. BUT there are maps on which certain tower types are ineffective at best. This is where the strategy comes in, if you want the most effective way to win you will have to understand the towers limitations and the maps enemies and tower platform locations.

I really enjoy the levels of complications this game adds as it builds in difficulty. Everyone can enjoy the "normal" mode I think, but once you hit nightmare it becomes VERY complex VERY fast. Not because they just throw more at you, but they also vary the types and amounts that come at you. Suffice to say that you will require a deep understanding of the towers, where to place them, when to upgrade them, which experimental type to use where, and when to trigger the towers/bases specials or else you'll fail. And I find that really refreshing and enjoyable in a tower defense game, the devs use a really good algorithm to challenge the player at each level of the game.

That aside the interface is clean, very intuitive, and simple. The graphics are nice but a tad simple, what I really like is the attention to detail, you can really tell the devs are into this, or into high quality. As an example, each time a ship flies overs the map to drop a tower pod on a platform, they have a small bullet point pop up confirming each stage of the tower pod deployment, completely unnecessary but really nice, and that's just one part of it. The sounds of the towers are different for each stage of the tower and its experimental types.

Now, onto my last part of the review, the dev group itself.
This group charged (if I remember correctly) $3 for this game on the playstore years ago, and I got it when the max level was 50 and it only had the main campaign. They've since release 3 "expansions" to the game, for a reasonable and realistic price of $0.00, free support, free dlc, free expansions... Even if I hated TD games I would buy this simply to encourage this type of game development again.

That my $0.02 take it or leave it.

In a time where good tower defense games are a bit thin on the ground, 2112TD was quite a nice surprise and well worth a look if TD is your bag.

I've been fiending for some good tower defense or RTS games, and this one was a purchase on a whim for me. I knew nothing about the game going in, but it is setup exactly like you would hope for a tower defense game. There are several towers (upgradeable), several enemy types, and a decent amount of maps. The game plays very well and very familiarly for regulars of the tower defense genre, and it definitely has escalating difficulty that requires strategy changes. While the sheer amount of content is not insane, the price is not insane either. You will definitely get some hours of fun out of this one, and for the price, it's well worth buying.

Worth it to try and a decent concept. But the games get too difficult for a casual gamer to achieve. Or at least for me. I love Defense Grid but it ramps up slower.

It is the mix of simplicity, strategy and looks that draws me to 2112TD. I was just playing it last night and whiteout noticing, a couple of hours had past and it was time to hit the sack.
This is how this game gets you. "I’m so simple to play, and yet so challenging". You end up going on another round to try a different strategy. If you lose, eventually get more XP for that upgrade you want… and you go back to it to try it out.
If the first few missions feel like a breeze, do get ready for some real challenges along the way on defending human kind. Enemies have the numbers and they are relentless. Luckily, human kind has the best commander for the job, -you- always ready for another go.
