The story is funny to me. The only thing that sucked was the dlc.
Buy the base game, and expect a puzzle game with good combat and cool upgrades. Loads to do and the game progresses in a interesting direction. The final level area is quite extra beautiful.
It can be a little difficult, so if you're key board guy, idk, if you fingers are like super quick get it.
I beat this game and own it on Uplay, and I had no issues running it, using a controller, and all.
It is like Botw but not actual ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Odysseys story is terrible, this games story is actually entertaining, in a comedic style.
There is a problem with the 'checking for available content' screen taking a couple minutes, and Ubisoft just isn't going to fix that.
As for the game, I'd say it's very much a hybrid of Breath of the Wild and AC Odyssey. It's much more arcade-style than BotW, in that you don't have to cook food, the fight mechanics are a lot better, weapons don't break, and visually more colorful.
It's also more shallow for those same reasons. The story is barely passable. You probably won't find any moments that you enjoy story-wise, but it also provides a reason to go from point A to B with out being...too awful.
Here's the thing, the first 50% of the game is a TON of fun. Exploring new lands, solving puzzles, upgrading your character. all great. Then it plateaus and becomes a slog for the next 25%, while you're finishing up and getting ready for the endgame.
The endgame is atrocious. The entire endgame is on rails, strict, strict rails. I don't know why they'd do that with an open world game, but the entire last region is just walking up a mountain, and it takes forever, and I mean forever.
So if you're not a stickler for finishing games, yeah. I wouldn't pay more than maybe $30 for it....even though I paid full price heh. Oops.
