We PC gamers need to start demanding more from Ubisoft, and they are not gonna listen as long as some keep buying their bad ports and unsuported games. Sorry to come to games I don´t own threads to complain, but seriously, this has reach a point of frustration and stupidity beyond comprehension.
They get money from their insipid copy/paste monthly franchise series and microtransactions, every 5 full moons they come up with a good game people are actually interested like this one, and they have to provide a subpart port for the PC (specially the Steam version since no support, no achievements, no DLCs... why bother?). SO it makes no sales because console players are too concerned to play the next big cinematic super mega sales hyped launch, it doesn´t sale on PC because it´s hardly suported, and then the game just dies, but Ubisoft doesn´t understand the failure because their big franchises still sell so much that they keep geting record benefits and continue to be a terrible company, probably one of the worst alongside EA on abandoning players to their fate, unsuport games, not realising classics people actually care and love... just a terrible company overall.
Personally I made the decision to only wishlist Ubi games until they were properly updated a loooong time ago, I only own the first South park game because that one was one of their last and only modern good Steam ports (no Uplay nedded, achievements, updated... the game as it exist on other platform, was it that hard to repeat it?), but it´s being almost 10 years since I made that decision and all those games are all abandoned. Last night I just unwishlisted every Ubi game and gave up, and the few Im really really interested... we all know if I really want to I can play them, if an excecutable with no features is all they can opher I can get that without suporting unfriendly costumer practices and companies, in a way that honestly most gamers we abandoned like 15 years ago, it´s only Ubi games that really make me ponder on going back to that becuase of the state of their ports. I really wanted to play the last Prince of Persia for instance, but you tell me not only I do not have cheevos that other platforms have but missing the ending of the game because it was a DLC that Steam nver got? C´mon, how dumb do they think we are?
Sorry for the rant and sorry about the problems you guys experienced with the Gold Edition, it just sucks and so sad for a game that, honestly, had me pretty hyped when it was announced. Bad deal for the devs who have to supher their idiotic publisher choices. I guess the only hope is that Ubisoft dies and 20 years later the individual devs made remakes of their old games? But who´s gonna be nostalgic about a game nobody bought? R.I.P the few interesting games Ubi launches.
