horrible audio quality
as soon as the game starts, all audio on my pc becomes horrible, sounding as if its underwater. other tabs like my browser sound bad too. I have VIOP disabled in settings, and as soon as i close the game, the audio returns to normal for the rest of my PC. can someone help me fix this?

Hey there,

Are you using a bluetooth headset or headphones with a built in mic? If so can you try disabling the built in mic if there is one from Windows, you may also need to disable hands free telephony in your Windows settings for the headset as well. It sounds like when you're launching the game it is activating hands free telephony on your bluetooth headphones, I myself experienced a very similar situation with bluetooth headphones and I personally had to manually disable hands free telephony through my Windows settings in order to prevent this from occurring again with other games and applications.

If you're not using bluetooth headphones with an in built microphone however please let us know but based on your description it sounds almost identical to the situation I experienced with another non-Ubisoft game so thought it was worth running this past you. Thanks!

Hi, wanted to chime in to say thank you, as I was facing a similar issue. Terrible audio quality upon first purchase and launch. Having just finished Division 1 the noticeable audio quality was too distinct.

Disabling of the hands free service for the bluetooth devices resolved it. Thanks!

Excellent! Glad I was able to help you out and thanks for letting me know.

Cheers!
Thanks. I was using a Bose QC 35 and plugged it in. There is no sound except some muffled static noise. I used to use speakers for the game, but now the audio feels majestic. Thanks for this answer. Disabling hands-free telephony removed the audio issue.

Yep in my own personal case it was QC 35 II's and it drove me up the wall until I got it figured out. Glad to hear this thread is still proving beneficial! I'll go ahead and mark my post as the topic answer so it stands out a bit more as that's a couple of folks now who've responded here to say this helped. Cheers!
