A question for the developers about global servers been changed by themselves
Dear developers,

Can you please explain to me why some hours ago when I was log in, my server was EU (as I am from there) but now few minutes ago it moved me to US East server by itself?

Thank you

Edit: Okay, it return back to "Europe" server but why having poor signal (red) even if I am from Europe? It depends what European country we are in?

Ok, I will post the whole results as it was given to me (with hidden for secure reasons) in case you need something extra from it:

1) speed*****.lan [192.***.**.254]

2) 192.***.***.136 (<--- This one was only like that)

3) hu0******.********.***.*****ip.net [195.**.***.111] (<---this one is my internet provider)

4) be15*****.***.*****ip.net [195.**.***.238] (<---same as number 3 above is my internet provider)

5) be14*****.***.*****ip.net [195.**.***.232] (<---again same as number 3 above is my internet provider)

6) 20ge.*********.****.i3d.net [195.**.***.146]
7) usew*********.i3d.net [109.***.***.189]
8) camt*********.i3d.net [109.***.***.170]
9) camt*********.i3d.net [109.***.***.205]
from 10 to number 30 were timed out so I won't post anything

My apologies as I don't understand very well the meaning of these IT stuff so I hope it will help you with. Also, yesterday around 19:00 (CY time) I played around 2 hours without freeze/crash with Europe server been on yellow, just an info in case it might help too.

Spot on, thanks for this mono_wolf.

As the first two IPs come back with a 192 address though, this does suggest Double NAT[www.ubisoft.com] on your network.

Do you use more than one router in your home setup? If so, please try the game via the main router.

And could you please try Port Forwarding[www.ubisoft.com] for the game, as this may also help.

Otherwise you may need to contact your ISP to discuss this further.

Hey mono_wolf,

Thanks for reaching out.

We aren't developers, rather we're Ubisoft Support however neither us nor the game team have any facilities to adjust any single player's connection.

The game will attempt to connect you to the best server for your location and ping though.

So a poor general connection can result in you being connected to other servers.

You note being back on Europe but still experiencing ping issues, which would also suggest this.

Please could you ensure you've completed all of the steps in our connectivity guide[www.ubisoft.com], as these should help improve your connection in-game and with the EU server.

Please let us know how you get on and if you need any further support at all.

Thank you!

Hi Ubi_TheBerry,

I truly appreciate your help and truly thank you for taking your time to reply to me back.

I am not good with PC technology but will give it a try following the guide link you have provided even though some times I can play for hours without having a game freeze/crash when the Europe (I am from CY) signal is in yellow (rare times in red too) which makes me think if it is the poor connection of my Country's internet provider towards your EU main server/s.

Will inform you if there will be anything else I notice during the above check up.

Again thank you for your reply and support on this matter

I run the tracer and ping towards www.ubisoft.com (as your guide mentioned) and I found out that my latency with ping was:
"min= 174ms, max=176ms, aver=175ms & packets: sent=4, received=4, lost=0 (0% lost)"

for tracer to your i3d.net was: "for your ip (only 3 last digits I will add) ***.***.***.146 was: 90ms 90ms 91ms, for your ip ***.***.***.189 was: 156ms 156ms 156ms, for your ip ***.***.***.170 was: 169ms 168ms 168ms and for your ip ***.***.***.205 was: 171ms 176ms 175ms"

But I have to mention this: Yesterday night (before checking the above) I was playing the game for some hours without issues and the Europe signal was yellow and in case you may also need it my PC specs are:

Windows 10 - 64bit (upgraded from Win 7 - 64bit) and everything is always up to date
Intel Core i7-67000K CPU @ 4.00 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB and everything is always up to date
RAM: 16 GB
Monitor refresh rate: 60Hz @ 1920 x 1080 (Display Resolution)

Not sure if this will also help you for any future reference on other Steam players issues/matters. I don't mind having a freeze/crash here and there (4/10) as most of the time I can play just fine for long time.

Again I truly appreciate your advises and help on such a small matter :btlthumbup:

Thanks for getting back to us mono_wolf and for sharing your findings.

During your Trace Route, may we please know the starting numbers of the first two IP addresses?

As we'd like to check if they fall into the following ranges;

10.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255
172.16.0.0 to 172.31.255.255
192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255

This is to allow us to rule out any Double NAT[www.ubisoft.com] on your network.

Thank you!

yeah sure, here it is: for the first of your router "20ge.*********.****.i3d.net is [195.**.***.146]"

and for the second of your router " usew*********.i3d,net is [109.***.***189]"

I am not sure if it is okay to type the whole ip and link of yours here thus I posted like that, I hope it is understandable and it is not troubling you at all.

Hey mono_wolf ,

Are these the first two results in the Trace Route or just after it pings to Ubisoft?

As it's your network we're looking at to confirm any Double NAT, so it'd be the literal first two results.

Thank you!

Ah oh okay, I thought you wanted the first two of your tracing ip routers

Ok, I will post the whole results as it was given to me (with hidden for secure reasons) in case you need something extra from it:

1) speed*****.lan [192.***.**.254]

2) 192.***.***.136 (<--- This one was only like that)

3) hu0******.********.***.*****ip.net [195.**.***.111] (<---this one is my internet provider)

4) be15*****.***.*****ip.net [195.**.***.238] (<---same as number 3 above is my internet provider)

5) be14*****.***.*****ip.net [195.**.***.232] (<---again same as number 3 above is my internet provider)

6) 20ge.*********.****.i3d.net [195.**.***.146]
7) usew*********.i3d.net [109.***.***.189]
8) camt*********.i3d.net [109.***.***.170]
9) camt*********.i3d.net [109.***.***.205]

Thank you for the reply :happy_yeti:

Yes, we use 2 routers on the house for having WiFi on the whole house area for family even though one of them is 17 years old :LoveChoiceSweat: and the main router is almost 10 years old (I think I might need to change it soon as your prescription even though they work on internet well :happy_yeti: ).

I do use my PC to play the game on main router (with cable instead of WiFi) and as I mentioned at above posts there are some times (now extremely rarely) I get a game freeze. But will check on what you just gave to me now and will work with it (I will also look for new routers anyway).

I truly appreciate all your help Ubi_TheBerry with this matter and truly thank you for taking the time to work it out with me step by step. Consider this matter "solved" and feel free to close it but keep it for reference to other players in case they have similar issues :happy_yeti::btlthumbup:

My regards and thanks to you and to all of your colleagues for trying to help us out with any possible issues we may have :heart_eyes_yeti: , I wish you all, all the best.

p.s. I will "pin" your last post as "best answer" but feel free to change it as you feel like :happy_yeti:

The length they expect you to go to make the game work... Contact ISP because the game is broken. Great.
If this helps them pinpoint the causes of the crashes, I am happy to help them.

Nevertheless, the game now is free from crashes so I am happy with their help.
