That's the purpose at least. We could use some different faction influence on a per week basis or a different form of calamity to meet on a rotation. As of right now the Black tusk are too central to the story and theme of the game to have them regularly supplanted as the greatest threat you need to deal with (outside of the white tusks, hunters, and rouges).

If you don't like retaking areas from the Black Tusk you don't have to. There are plenty of other things you can do instead for XP, resources or just to pass the time.
By this time, you've already completed the campaign. At level 40, you've done ALL story mode content.
It's a live service looter shooter game. 3rd person Diablo 4. There ALWAYS needs to be something to do. Thus the invasion refreshes.
