Just bought game, wont launch

I just bought the game earlier tonight (1/21/25) and i have ubisoft connect installed. everytime i try and launch the game, steam says its running but nothing happens. i cant find a good fix anywhere.

all the solutions i can find mention having ubisoft connect/uplay installed, which i do. i also had ubisoft connect running when launching in steam and it nothing happens. I cant find a way to link my steam and ubisoft account without the game launching and givning a pop up to connect them. i checked integrity of installed files, restarted my computer, steam, and ubi connect and nothing.

does anyone know why its not working and what a fix is?

my friend had this exact same issue he had to uninstall easy anticheat and reinstall it but that might have just been an issue on his end

I have exactly the same problem. Is there a solution? how can I reinstall the easy anti-cheat?

are you sure it's not running in a window in the background? sounds dumb, but that happened to me originally and now every time i start the game, I have to switch to fullscreen, lower the resolution, accept it and then raise the resolution back to max. Otherwise I get a black screen.

Okay, thank you, I think you were right :) I have now ended the division 2 and steam process using the task manager and started it again and lo and behold, everything works again :) thank you

In any cases for stop bacckground games is enough to press stop in steam :) not is necessary to go on task manager anymore

try to install dat ubisoft client. it will be fine
