I for one would rather the game get shut down/updated to have offline mode with friends rather it go off to another studio and get absolutely butchered for profit.
With the state of gaming, this game would get goofy as hell, we'd see far more goofy cosmetics than we do now. The Fornite effect would come into play for profit.
If it got handed over to another studio, they would see it as an opportunity to make money rather than withholding quality, atmosphere and lore of the game.
Games like Division 1 and 2 are passion projects, but would just turn into mere products going into control of another studio. I can't think of any game in existence that got better after being sold off/handed over to another studio outside of it's original.

I will say it for the remaining of this game's life cycle, the devs fumbled hard by pulling back on seasonal characters. At minimum there should be an option to play on seasonal characters and/or Hardcore mode needs to be updated for this game to compete and stay relevant in the looter shooter space. This game's current model is outdated and is not going to retain a large player base and hold against the modern structure of looter shooters. There are so many simple yet effect changes the dev team could make to still grow this game more than what it is now but are constantly getting bullied out of trying new ideas that could expand the experience beyond than what we have had for the past 5 years.
There is already a game with the seasons you need. And she dies because of it. Look at the game statistics and read what the players write. This is what you want to bring to this game.
I highly doubt that anyone will buy the company because there's an enormous debt that is attached to it. And even if, they can decide to shutdown everything that isn't generating enough profit. The perfect scenario would be that another studio buys the IP and creates a totally new game (similar environment) that's actually capable of running offline, no server requirements, accept for Co-Op/PvP parts. But again highly unlikely.
1. This is an atmosphere similar to the first part, people walking around the city, snow, more storylines.
2. Expand the map, add a forest, mountains, steppes. Abandoned mines.
3. Diversify the PvP mode, maps, modes, stylms (some hold the defense, others storm the fortifications)
4. And finally, what everyone liked was the addition of various mutation monsters, like zombies, in separate locations, where the virus mutated and so on.
As for me, the game has great potential, but I don’t understand why the developers waste their talent on cheap skins.
2k daily players in TD2 vs 40k daily players in Once Human.
Not sure what world you're living in where 2k daily player count somehow outperforms 40k daily players.
Even after all of the backlash Diablo and Once Human got for moving forward with wipes, they both retain a higher daily player count than TD2.
Pretty obvious which seasonal model people prefer playing.
Edit: And not talking about who join only for mannhunt stop to playng this too because is so long and criptic.
