How can I redo the Capitol Stronghold?
Long story short, I need Ridgeway dead without using Armor Kits for the Field Research thing, and didn't switch it off of Story difficulty like I was supposed to. How exactly am I supposed to do that now that the "invasion" has happened?

In the mission options you can switch the mission from being invaded to normal mode. If you have unlocked difficulties higher than story mode you can then select the difficulty you want. If you want to complete the weekly black tusk invasion you will need to switch the mission back to invaded and complete it.
Where are the mission options? I look at the mission itself and it doesn't give me anything because it wants me to clear Roosevelt island again.

You can access mission options on the map or directly at the location of the mission when you fast travel to it. I suggest just fast traveling to the location of the mission. A floating dialog should be visible at the mission location where you can select the mission options you want.

You are required to clear Roosevelt island again because the mission is part of the Black Tusk invasion for the week. The mission is in the invaded mode. Change it to the normal mode to remove any requirement to play another mission first. You can make the mission invaded again when you are done if you want to complete the Black Tusk invasion for the week.
Hover over the mission, and press the relative button for "Mission Settings" Click the difficulty you want and it will allow you to replay the mission.
So after playing and testing some more, I've found that the game wants me to do all three strongholds again in order. I can only switch between Invaded and Manhunt until after I complete it. Once I complete the Invaded version, I can redo the normal version, as I found out after beating District Union Arena again.

Thanks for the help, I probably wouldn't have noticed the other options besides just difficulty otherwise. Also would have gotten to address this sooner if my computer hadn't also leaked all its coolant out.

Still annoying though.

Glad you found a solution. I am not aware of any requirement to complete a particular mission mode before you are allowed to change the mission mode but if it is working now that is all that matters.
Yeah, apparently it wouldn't let me go back to the original mode until I beat it on Invaded. I could switch to Manhunt though. Strange choice by Ubisoft.

Also as a note for anyone else that might be doing this for the field research reward, Sleipnir isn't worth it. The Classic M60 Blueprint you would already have provides significantly higher damage and double the magazine size. The only thing Sleipnir gets over the Classic M60 is a mildly higher RPM, in which the benefit is more than negated by the drawbacks.

Still working on figuring out what that last reward does though.
