High level gear drops on low level

I've started a new character and I am lvl 2 but I keep getting level 35/40 gear from crates.
Is there any way to disable this nonsense and make the drops suitable for my level?

I've seen a reddit post about this from a months ago. I guess this will never be fixed then .

I had the same issue. I just put them into the stash until I got lvl 40. it is what it is

funnily enough they weren't worth selling for me. would only get me a few alternative items and anything I bought would just be outclassed after a mission or two anyway

same here, only 4 hours in and dropping level 40 gear from the Washington Hotel mission! the first main mission in the game. That is SO borked it's beyond belief. Game Design failure.

just sell hight lvl stuf now and buy in shops your lvl weps and gear
