What does it mean? Can't get past the game without the DLC? This is some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. What to do with the plot at the end of the standard edition? Either pay again or forget about halfway through?

You can finish the original content and story, but you will not be able to hit the highest gear score and other improvements that were introduced and tied to WoNY. I believe that includes the seasonal hunts and a raid or two. You also will be unable to find the gear sets and exotics introduced in the expansion

Warlords of New York is necessary to travel from Washington D.C. to New York where a new campaign which ties-in with events from the original game awaits you. It is the only way to raise your Level from 30 to 40.

You must have this to participate in Seasons and Global Events. Without this expansion, you can still play the game but will be stuck in Washington D.C. and soft-locked from any additional content.

It's literally like half the game without the DLC. If the game doesn't constantly crash for you, it's totally worth it.

i recommend not buying this game, ubisoft is facing financial troubles and i would love to see them go under or get sold off.
