Where are most players at?

I'm currently level 28 playing side quests/main missions. If I try to queue for a random mission etc via matchmaking, nobody joins and I do not find any sessions. If I match make for descent, even after 15+ minutes, I get no matches.

Where are most the players at? Endgame? Is it just normal to not find anyone via matchmaking?

its normal to have empty Matchmaking for low level missions because its all soloable
End game starts at level 40 ( You might be able to call for help in game during a mission & another DIVISION AGENT might answer your call ) than trying to matchmake

You are Currently in the NORMAL STORY DIFFICULTY until you get to 40 and finish the story
Leave descent for later on

DIFFICULTY WISE WHEN YOU HIT 40

Most players are in the endgame.
Most players don't use matchmaking, they use the "Call for backup" feature.

Very True the game was released in 2019 and community has gobbled up the content and rinse and repeated if for years.

The Story Content your digesting now is rinse and repeat content known as Open world activities/ missions which are soloable from normal to heroic difficulty

You will find people trying to form groups via GLOBAL CHAT amongst all the other nationalities to form groups for the other activities Like RAID , DESCENT, DZ, SUMMIT

The only time MATCHMAKING works due to population of the activity
is for PVP & Countdown & Quite possibly the weekly reset to a STRONGHOLD (but usually thats global chat spamming)

PS. Descent is one of the worst game modes so there will be no matchmaking there unless your there for Lore & Patches or the vindicator

MATCHMAKING will most likely be effective as it was back at launch when SEASONS
start

"Call for Backup" Feature may work as theres people levelling the sheparding system which is more or less a white knight will swoop in to save you in your activity whilst being rewarded

Matchmaking works I use it everyday. You will find it harder if you want a specific mission. Always go random. Now if you don't pick up a party in ten seconds stop and go to dc or nyc and repeat the matchmaking for random whatever. it resets your server when you travel between the main game and the expansion.

Now for the bad news. Some leave their party open but just not for western players. You'll get the boot every once and a while. You'll need to travel to dc or nyc to reset your timer to group.

Game is pretty dead. Descent even more dead game mode. Doesn't help devs came up with some amazing idea to make talent "pools", at the moment it's really bad one, so it's normal you won't find anyone playing it, especially at your level.

Also that call for backup function is bricked atm.

havent levelled a mule since the dodgey patch, your probably right too because of the god rolled recab station

Does that mean when u hit lvl 40 a SHD Watch magically appears on your wrist out of no where?

It will, however they half assed this whole thing and without beating wony you will have a bunch of stuff bugged and randomly missing. But then if you goal is i.e. only to get shd points for mats or what not, then skipping is a way to go.

I never expected them to get patchs down right after 10 + seasons after WONY.

I guess the Veterans would be leaving for Massives take on STAR WARS
than rerolling Mules i mean seasonal characters with new carrots on sticks

500+ level. During all this time, a player came to me only once. No online. There are modes that I have not even seen in the game, they are difficult to play alone. This game has a very strange community - zero help. Among friends you need to ask about playing together.

yea kinda it depends where you are in End Game

SHD 1- 1000 would be farming gear and weapons, slowly ticking over Expertise
and Open world appeals to them , while they are grinding away
or Chasing The Exotic Trophy stash

SHD 1001+ would be farming Exotic Components
through 2 game modes as thats where it is obtained from

Theres only 2 Raids, 1 incursion, Countdown and pvp & Legendary Strongholds that you require a grp for The rest of the game is soloable

Descent is a game mode for lore , arm patchs and the Vindicator exotic rifle
its easiest if played SOLO rather than grp play but its the least rewarding for the amount of time put into it, and if you fail you get zilch

The 2 Game modes that drop Exotic components for our Gear Upgrades is
DARK ZONE
COUNTDOWN
as you can imagine thats where every one is

Unless they are A leaderboard RAID Group

this would most definately change when seasonal comes around

This is an online cooperative PVE game. In all modes, I want to play in company. If in such a huge game world only two cards are relevant, then we can safely say that this is the "dead game".
You are confusing a person who wants to play with someone who enters the game as a robot.

Yea about 3 years ago it was for veterans

no as in people above a certain level have rinse and repeated this game for Years , and they got what they need from raids and stuff

kinda like Do you need to raid again if you were the one who got Thunderfury

DIVISION 2 just like its gameplay comes in waves Usually shd 1 -3000 will play together
The new people & younger generation who recently purchased or maybe a year or so purchased tend to play together in relevant content
theres also people rerolling toons that coincide with this
eg They tend to RAID together as none of them have Eagle bearer, Ravenous, Regulus

im level 6000 i havent played solo for 4000 levels.... I know what this game is ..... every 15 minutes i play with 8 new random people for the last 2 years and i always countdown.
I sometimes pvp in DZ when my friends call for it

It also becomes seasonal with say LEVELLING... people form groups in Global Chat to do activities that are FAST XP grinds for the SEASONAL 100 reward track

Almost 95% of Matchmaking aint on the matchmaking system in DIV 2
Its usually done Via Global Chat & Discord channels eg for raiding
been that way for the longest time

Freya its almost like if you go to global Chat right now and say LFG HUNTERS masks
im sure there will be someone in your position who needs that and wants to do it

Out of all Ubi Games its the least dead game, maybe 2nd most active

Massive created the system , now they are trying to back track on that system
and create seasons 2.0 which will be bliss for new comers and moderately new people as Matchmaking will work cause everyone is inline with eachother during seasons. and should RESET the community to level 1 in order to give everyone a refresher to the game , while they work on division 3, after going GOLD on Star wars

Veterans will eye ball it , but im sure some of them will for the luv of the game
others might be very well a star wars fan , and might wanna see Massives attempt at start wars

Trust me im only SHD 6000 but happy to play with new people, you will meet people lvl 15000 + Veterans who dont play with the community and only want to play with veterans .... when the game was designed for people of all levels (Plenty of special people out there)
