Ubi connect keeps telling me to redownload the game. (Division 2)

I looked online and tried every possible solutions. After the last maintenance, (I started like a week ago.)
when I try to launch game from steam(I have the both steam version of the game and ubi connect version)

ubi connect will tell me to reinstall the game.
Things I tried:

Verify integrity of the game files (steam)

Uninstalled and reinstalled the game from steam.

Redirect download and download cache(?) folders in ubi connect to steamapps -> common

Reinstalled Ubi connect.

Trying to directly launch the game by going into the game directory (Tried TheDivision2.exe and thedivision2launcher.exe)

Multiple restarts of my computer.

This all just leads back to ubi connect telling me to reinstall the game.
Anybody have any solutions to this?
(Steam account is linked with my ubisoft account)

I had a problem like You.

Moving around game folder just messed everything for me and I was sick of constant redownloads of game updates and things like that.

The only way I could fix it is by uninstalling the game from Steam and Ubisoft and just delete everything I could found on my PC related to D2, then download the game on Steam and thats it.

No more annoying redownloads.

don't run those executables like that directly, press the PLAY button in Steam to launch the game

or check steamdb.info for the division 2, look at Configuration https://steamdb.info/app/2221490/config/

it shows what you need to run if you want to start it yourself

Arguments -uplay_steam_mode

so thedivision2launchersteam.exe -uplay_steam_mode

or TheDivision2.exe -uplay_steam_mode

On me says the division 2 is suspect but working too for the antivirus norton :D i know norton is not good.

My Steam copy of Division 2 refuses to run.... it loads as far as the Easy anitcheat and then exits and syncs game save with the cloud.

My Ubisoft version runs just fine.

Both games have been verified yet Steam fails to run successfully.

This is the 1st time for me since launch that I have issues with the game not working after an update. at least I can play but I would rather run it from Steam.

Division 2 won't start after update on May 14.
I have Ubisoft Connect running and try and launch from Steam as normal. A small windows pops up as if it is starting, then disappears and the Green start arrow on the Steam Div 2 page turns green again as if it is not running. Tried rebooting, etc. Bummer

You dont want to have Ubisoft and Steam versions of the game installed on your PC.

If you go to Ubisoft Connect - Installed Games , you only want to have STEAM version of the game installed.

If you have Steam and Ubisoft versions installed, you have to uninstall both and then install the game only from Steam.

Do not mess around with the game folder, copying from Ubi to Steam, verifying game integrity and things like that, just uninstall everything and then install from Steam.

this is best answer. one installation is only one pathway.
