have you tried making sure hdr is off? and verifying that your contrast settings are correct?

I had the same issue and think it's due to a recent change, disabling HDR was the solution for me.

this was exactly the solution, thank you so much man. i really appreciate it.
Honestly i don't know why HDR is such a common thing when i get a new game or go back to other games and the setting is automatically turned on

Use reshade and turn off Vignette Effect in game settings.

yo, thanks for the post and replies it helped me. turned off HDR and now my game and the entire windows system are brighter. somehow turning HDR on or auto will dim everything including windows.

HDR in this game is horrid. Makes the game crash more and makes it look horrible.
Not sure what that setting is supposed to accomplish, but it's not doing it well.

Same exact problem I had, turning hdr off and restarting definitely improved it for me , but my old tv and ps5 still somehow looks better than my pc and 3070 video card with this game , wasn’t always like that , had to be an update somewhere that through things outta whack

As someone that does a lot of photography, which is where HDR came from before consumer video, I can't stand how many industries try and push 'HDR' like an end all be all. Of course then there is the fact that HDR can mean many different things in terms of the scale of exposures and how many there are, in this case per frame of video. Each manufacture and studio focuses on different elements of HDR which is why it is next to impossible to standardize it, Hence the many people saying it looks bad. Even those with 'HDR capable' screens will not be impressed with the outcome unless the software developer, Operation system, and hardware are all on the same page of what HDR is.
