I can't level up?

I am level 30 and have stopped levelling up. I am missing something?

DLC ends at lvl 40

Base game ends at Level 30, once you purchase WONY DLC you can level up to 40.
Once you hit Level 40, you start unlocking SHD Ranks which give you small boosts in certain areas like Crit Chance, Headshot Damage, etc.

yeah, what stan said. after lvl 40 you keep leveling up on SHD levels up to 1000 and after lvl 1000 shd you keep getting points to add to "health" stat as well as spending them on resources to put into weapon/armor upgrades to min/max your gear.

Well in the base game level 30 is the max. Then there is the world tiers up to 5. There is also gear score i believe it goes up to 550 (it been a very long time since I have used GS)

WONY really does unlock a lot of content for the game if you decide to get it.

My main problem now is that the base story seems to not exist. No more cut scenes, just the same old missions, World Tier 2

you need go doo dlc story no point doing anything on lvl 30 world tiers is gone on lvl 40 its just waste of time doing them and all loot is salvage on lvl 30

DO THE INVASION MISSIONS. Those will slowly give info on what Black Tusk are doing. There are also a BUNCH of new ECHOs and comms logs laying around that will explain more.

I've done everything that says "main mission" and basically just repeating checkpoint take overs and the odd stronghold attack. I guess, I may have to buy the expansion. There are those Nuclear Power Plant missions but I guess that they are no active yet.

to get to world tier 5 you have to complete all the strongholds . you will then get prompt to go back to the BOO for final speech from Elis then Black Tusk will invade. Complete all strongholds again and Tidal Basin stronghold will open up and when that one is done then all is groovy. Do the Warlords of NY DLC to progress beyond lvl 30.

Did you do the invaded strongholds with the correct gear score? You acknowledged you were sitting at WT2. World tiers go up to 5, with more story stuff being drip fed to you as you go, as well as some occasional new mechanics.

On a side note, for players more versed:
is it even still possible to lock yourself at a world tier by accident, or did they alter that so it can't happen anymore?

And what is the correct gear score?
