"Support" is relative. I dropped the game a longer while back (I had spent enough time in it, I was just "done" with it in a neutral kind of manner, no hard feelings) and most of what's being done is is keep repeating those "seasons" in which you have to kill copy & paste targets working down a checklist of sorts, a system that was introduced with the Warlords of New York DLC and that has been milked to no end. It's a relatively lazy, low-effort way to keep the facade of an upated, live, breathing game.

But the fact seems to be that actual, proper, mid- or high-effort content updates are rare. As far as I remember that skyscraper mode wasn't too well received either. So naturally they will ask themselves: Why even try? And Massive seems to be heavily split up, aren't they working both on a Star Wars and Avatar game right now? I'm guessing The Division 2 is really only maintained by a mininum skeleton crew. At least that's how it felt to me back then.

If I'm wrong maybe someone could correct me? I might actually jump back in, because I'm still kinda fond of the game and I don't hate the time I had with it.

You can paint the corpse of a horse brown, it's still dead and rotting.

Considering all the random issues, and bugs that just break the game "updates" as we call them usually make the game much more unstable than the last "update". I gave up on this game months ago after dealing with enough frustration. Seeing it pop up on steam I knew immediately what new players were about to experience.. and boy that first day release on steam the negative reviews just flew in... I very much doubt they've done much else to fix the stability issues since day one on steam.

I'm playing to buy it at 85%.
Can I play it, or it's dead? Please be honest.
Thanks.

It's not dead no matter what our dear doctors say. Year 5 season one will be starting soon, New game mode and gear to be had. There are bugs and game freezes. I still enjoy playing it. I'd buy it at that discount again. Get the New York DLC as well. See you at the end game.

You "can" play it regardless of whether it's "dead" or not because most content is perfectly doable alone unless we're talking the raid-like stuff or regular missions on hardest difficulty.

Thanks. I'm downloading the demo and probably will buy it afterward.

I REALLY wanna play this again. I played a good bit on XB1. But all of the reviews talking about crashes is kinda scaring me off.

It's only $5, so I may just try the demo and if it runs pretty smoothly, I'll grab it. I mean, there's over 2,000 people playing right now, so I'd like to believe the crashes aren't THAT common. And there's probably fixes that a lot of people just don't take the time to try.

The concept of a game being dead is very much on the eye of the beholder, i played a ton on the ubisoft launcher version of the game and it always had crashes some days it crashes more and some not that much (5600x and a 3070 16gb ram) , it is true that at least for me this game is on life support, new content ? yes ? its same recycled old one but branded as "new season"
I get what you all mean, but see: I'm a simple man, I see "update notes" in 2023 I download that game.

After begging to Rockstar to do ANYTHING with my beloved Red dead online and they abandoned it like some adopted children

Thanks technology

As far as development, this game was dead for a few years - the game was no longer getting updates. But Ubi decided to reinvest in this game and put together another dev team which is why this game has been getting updates again starting last year.

Ubisoft suck at everything for years now, but they are good at supporting their games in long term as far as I know.

Knowing how EA stopped Anthem/Andromeda and completely "forgot" about them, at least Ubisoft still doing some sort updates, they still updating Rainbow Six Siege.

Because they are wrong. As you can see, the game did quite well in the long run. More new content it's underway. At least for 1 more year.
