Who thought "Descent" was a good idea? What a disappointment of a game mode. In a game where you've spent hundreds of hours working on your equipment, modifying your weapons, honing your skills, they thought it would be a great idea to make you start from scratch, over and over again. It was incredibly boring, I can't comprehend their thinking. Will anyone even play it?

super disappointing mode for me. Its just the same thing over and over and over again in rooms designed to screw the player over to get rewards that are no better than other activities that take half the time

Yes, exactly!
Messaggio originale di 9Sniket:
rewards are a joke
talents and elite opponents are ridicoulus

Agree.
It is interesting to get new combinations of abilities and equipment. On my 2nd run, I got the Bullet King's Bullet Hell ability - no reload and refundable ammo on all my weapons was a fun new look.
1st run duo ended at loop 4
First pick P416/ tac Vector/ SASG-12, great. I'm fine with that
Second pick bolt-action-rifle/ pistol/ pistol. Pick rifle, NO SCOPE WTF
All the "crit-skill" and "shield-skill" are not worth picking, coz u have no crit nor a shield.
Crit comes form points upgrade, shields are pure RNG

2nd run solo ended at loop 3
Focus on red over blue, get stagger and kill, having three armor-kit doesn't help there's no time.

3rd run duo loop 6 reach nemesis
They toss TWO sniper turret across the map, flanking me and my friend
Friend use Striker drone, get hack, couldn't cancel, there's no time
One of them use their own drone and rush in, so much shtuff happening, team wipe

Both of us think it wouldn't get better with points upgrade, unlikely too try it again any time soon
BTW, I'm not seeing any season 1-4 blueprint form "simulation cache"
Just spent 2 hours methodically working through the Descent. We were a 4 man team using comms, fully geared up with Hive Revivers etc, good weapons, and my other team mates have done it before. When we got to the Nemesis fight, we got bum-rushed and were all killed in less than minute. We threw everything we had at them, but the bullet sponges just ran straight over and executed us all at point blank range. Two of my team mates said they're not touching this mode again and another said they're not returning to The Division 2 again. What a waste...

I think this will be a common response until a proper expansion or proper new content tbh.
I think its pretty cool concept but don't like that you lose your cosmetics
To be honest I cant really complain. It's a rougelike mode, I've played rougelike games this is basic cookie cutter stuff. The coins to use to boost up passive stuff when you're done need to be boosted because the stats per upgrade is abysmal, let alone would make any difference until you spend like 2hrs trying to build something good. Also drop more cause the amount of time to the amount of rewards we get out of it is not worth the trouble, I could care less about 1 exotic cache for a weekly mission to justify even "farming" it, if you can even call it that.

Same. I actually kinda like the mode, but I didn't like how we were stripped of our cosmetics.
Yea it's pretty bad and boring, what a waste of dev time. They could have spent that dev time making something good but they wasted it on the Descent lol.
Yea, not gonna lie but..the descent is actually a disappointment. It took them entire season to work on this gamemode. Each run feels..the same. I don't know, it feels like there not much of variety. In the end, you gonna have at least 3-4 perks you had previous runs. Enemies spawn literally around you. This is not a problem early cicles, but when you start fighting black tusk with their stupid sniper robots, it's over. Those things not only have a ton of hp but also doing massive damage. While you fight soldiers, those things might go somewhere behind you (we all know npcs in division LOVE to go behind players). We'll see, maybe they improve it somehow. Oh and yes, as someone said, it feels extremely long. I've got super bored at 60-70%~ (i forgot actually). Don't get me wrong, i love roguelike games but this..currently it's pretty meh
the problem is the room is inconsistent with the purchasable terminal, there are rooms that had one, and another one don't. Good luck fighting next room when it's elite enemy room and find out there's no terminal to replenish ammos

It would be nice if they've executed it better, but then they've managed to take stuff that people were enjoying at least to extent during PTS and then proceeded to nerf or even remove it. At current state it's pointless hot garbage which mainly just wastes your time.
I think its okay overall, the thing I dislike about it is difficulty. Why do enemies need to be such bullet hoses when you're playing with multiple people, rather than having a bunch of enemies at once. For the first 5 loops, the amount of enemies you have is underwhelming... the only challenge they pose is them taking 15 mags just to put down one.

More enemies with less health, is better than less enemies with more health.
If the game still crashes I wouldn't design any mode like descent. Bad developers.
