Some easy ways to make a solo run successful (as in beating the nemesis):
If the beginning weapon/skill selection is not good, exit the descent and start over.
Hit easy rooms as often as possible to reach the nemesis fight quicker.
Pick a skill that's good for ambushing spawn doors (try to get reviver hive for your other skill). Easy and medium difficulty rooms only have 2 spawn doors during the early Loops so pick one to ambush and quickly reduce the enemy count.
If the exotic talent at the end of Loop 1 is not great (like Bullet Hell or Plague of the Outcasts -- you should have a >50% chance of having one of those as an option) then consider starting a new run. Also try to pick up the Trauma talent along the way for a nice boost in the nemesis fight.
People who play like cowards or lemmings will just get whittled down, swarmed, and wiped.
I feel like this is the kind of experience Summit was meant to be.
That said, the RNG can certainly screw you over. If the game wasn't so full of anti-social introverts that refused to communicate with each other, you could certainly ask to restart a run if you've gotten no good weapon, talent, or skill rolls.
How difficult it is to get a good group for a proper run is not really the fault of the game mode. That's more on the state of the game and its population.
The issue might be you try to rush and not think about it ....
stack up these talents
Offensive talents- unhinged, allegro and critical
Defensive talents- preservation
Utility talents- braced, destructive and 1x trauma
Arena stats- take skill tiers (unhinged gives you all the dps you need and preservation fills your armor)
Exotic talents- in order i like
1. plague of the outcast
2. incessant chatter ( do not use with bullet hell)
3. agonizing bite
4. doctor home
5. bullet hell ( do not use with incessent chatter or utillity talents like extra and lucky shot)
the rest of the exotics are junk imo
