Game has become unplayable.

So I played a few months ago when I bought the game till the point I was level 40 and had unlocked the majority of the map and side quests. I remember getting my first exotic, logging out and then I haven't played since. Now I log in, and I'm in a quest zone, no ability to go back to free play, and I cannot beat the enemies I am up against. They completely obliterate my character and my guns do next to nothing to them unless I unload 3 full clips of headshots at them. What is going on????

Shop around for builds. Ask friends for assistance and farm what you need. The community will help and respond to request.

Im not sure you're understanding. I have no other options of gameplay other than the mission that I cannot progress in. I don't have a way to build gear if I can't kill things to loot them. I have NO way to progress since I'm stuck in a mission that I cannot beat. I don't know what to do because every time I quit and come back I'm right back at the start of the mission.

Call for back up. Someone who can beat the mission will show up.

Maybe you were sent to New York and the game bugged and didn't equip you with the proper gear, try checking you inventory and see if there's anything there. When I went from New York the gear I was given was miles better than the stuff I had.

no one answers back up requests anymore. In fact it seems from the forums only a certain type of person still plays this game, and rude is their number one trait.

Well it happened to me that exactly , i do not understand if you are just undermining what this guy is saying or just you yourself do not understand , I took a full week calling for backup to do a mission in this last event that is now in more advanced state and no one would help at all , and finally I just went to help another call and done it cause this group went for that exact mission or otherwise I wouldn't be able to finish it ...

Most call for back up depending on game time are not replied , so i do not understand why you doubt this guys concern ??!!

Its a real deal , in Hard mode and up you can not do the missions on your own , to than find out when you do it in groups that the enemy drop completely useless weak gear and that your gear set and weapons should had obliterated them when you done it alone ...

The game rises its difficulty but the dropped gear from enemies continues to be bad and that is his point , its unbalanced if you check the gear and guns that enemy is using !

I'll give you an example take a control point in heroic and in level 4 alert on your own !

You will fail miserably , cause its wave after wave of high leveled enemies and groups of 5 and 6 of them in each wave or more , your guns look useless no matter what build you use , and soon you will find yourself either dead or asking for back up , and in the end the loot they drop is pure garbage !

I use a mix of striker with belstone ( Sorry if not correct the name ) and have a strong hit from striker and good armor from beltstone and armor health recovery , and yet in this game levels its impossible to do it alone , another thing is the weapons I have an exotic AR from this rewards last event and good second and pistol , use shield and the defense turret and either I come without ammo or I get overwhelmed by this enemy waves ... Its not that simple as you say !

Sounds like a skill issue as I have 0 issue taking heroic tier 4 control points running full strikers with max offensive stats. I could do it with my hybrid heartbreakers even. I will have a few close calls as I have 8 guys shooting me at once but once the backup arrives and they start taking threat from you, it becomes a cakewalk.

Sounds like a skill issue as I have 0 issue taking heroic tier 4 control points running full strikers with max offensive stats. I could do it with my hybrid heartbreakers even. No one takes Heroic alone no one .. so you can brag your victories if that makes you feel bigger then you really are , i even can bet you are in level lower than NPCs...

Heroic is just normal game play map and missions for most. You will get there once you sort your build out.

You can play other secondary mission, repeat more time, for level up and find new items.

You can't just fast travel out of the area back to HQ? I've never heard of that not being the case.
