Just looking for any tips on good builds for sniping!

I'd recommend you wait until Season 11, which should be coming next week.

The next exotic is a new "sniper" rifle and also from what I've heard the new gear set is designed around sniping as well.

In the meantime, a quick search on YouTube, you could try this build out:
