How impactful are the signature weapons?
I've played the beta and roughly remember there are signature weapons (I've done some googling too)

I'm wondering how impactful those weapons are for your chosen playstyle. More directly, Can I expect to be using the weapon whenever I can? Are the weapons more meant for Boss killing? Or are they more of a shiny token piece that you just have in late game content?

This is more of just curiosity while I begin my road to endgame. thanks!

It's about 50/50. Yeah you get it later in the game unfortunately however they're pretty good against bosses but the thing that sucks is they don't really carry alot of ammo.

It's mostly the passive skills in the signature weapons skill tree that matters.
The signature skill trees also unlock a unique version of one of the skills & gives you maxed mods for that skill, and some signature weapons also gives you a unique/stronger weapon attachment!

But most of them are really good and has nice dps, especially the flamethrower if you run a burn/status build imo.

A random video that shows you some of the passive skills in the different signature weapons:

EDIT: enemies that you kill can & will drop special ammo for signature weapons.

There is a green gear set that drops bleed ammo for you > which the survivalist signature weapon benefits from "if I remember it correctly"?

you'll rarely use them, it's the skill tree they each have that makes the difference. Example: I use gunner for one of my DPS builds because i like the perks it gives me 10% armor on kill and 10% ammo back every minute (5% to team) There more but those are the two most important to me.

Will say that the Minigun syncs well with the Striker and Negotiator's Dilemma sets!

To me, the signature weapon is more of a novelty item than something you would rely on in a firefight. Limited ammo is usually a factor.

When you've played for a while and teamed up to do heroic and legendary content, you'll notice that very few people actually use their signature weapons.

As the others have mentioned, it's the buffs you get from the specializations that matters. The weapon itself, not so much.
