HELP AND TIPS - The House Wanderers
I'm making this topic for mutual assistance in the game.

The game isn't that big but there're some few tips that many may not know and that I have deliberately kept quiet in the game.
You can share here if you wish.

Enjoy the game!

I'm too lazy to do a proper guide but here are some useful tips.
I'll try not to spoil too much.

The fountain and the wish

  • You need to have the lighter, it's in the basement, the door near the save room.
  • Use the lighter in the fireplace, in the dining room. You'll get the antique coin.
  • Throw the coin in the fountain. The fountain is found in the courtyard, after the fight against the spider boss.
  • You can then make a wish. You have a choice between more health (you'll tank one more hit against common enemies) or critical hit. I recommend critical hits, they save bullets and are very useful against bosses.

You'll also get an achievement.

General fighting tips

With most enemies, headshots does a lot of damage.
It can one shot common zombies in the normal mode.
So take your time to set your pistol laser sight (space by default on the keyboard) and aim for the head.
If aiming is difficult, try to find a fixed camera angle where aiming is easier.

Emily can run backward, I don't think she's slowed down. This is useful for dodging.
So you can lower your gun, go back real fast, aim, put the laser sight, shoot.

Clearing sitting zombies

Sometimes, you'll see sitting zombies on the floor.
They'll usually get up later after a script.
You can shoot them in the head while they are sitting, to avoid fighting.
Leave the room and come back and their body should disappear.

Dealing with third floor enemies easily

This tip is for the blind undead of the third floor.
So you can't really kill them with the shotgun or pistol but you can use flasks to one shot them.
However, it's not really necessary and I don't recommend wasting flasks on them.
They detect noise (Emily running) and light (the flashlight). As long as you don't aim the flashlight directly at their face, they shouldn't be too agressive.

But there is a much easier way : use the lighter. You'll be able to see in the dark and they won't attack you unless you are very close to them. This makes this whole section a breeze.

Can you make the first boss easier? I died over 10 times since far.

No, but there're some tips with this boss.
Shoot her in the head with your handgun (use your laser aim).
Double damage. She will be way more easy.
Ok,.I beat her so I'm good.
I'm actually enjoying it quite a bit, it reminds me of Code: Veronica's artstyle which holds a special nostalgic place in my heart. Random points of contention:
- A map would be my primary request (even OG RE had this), easily accessible with on key press.
- I get the idea behind the non-linked item boxes (iirc, REmake Real Survival Mode also had this feature), but it would be cool to think about separate difficulties for the game where item boxes are linked.
- What is preventing the main character from running up/down stairs?
- Rebinding keyboard works, but controller buttons can't be remapped?

I hope this doesn't get patched, but you can speed reload by quickly opening your inventory and clicking a gun and pressing reload, you can fill the shotgun completely faster than it takes to normally reload 1 shell.

Third floor enemies, you can attract them by briefly turning your flashlight on and off then moving back. That way you can steer them somewhere where you can more easily sneak around them.
