Spoiler. What's with the elevator?

Hi, i have a question, whats with the elevator that you can foud opening the doors in front of the boss' secretary desk? I've tried pushing both direction buttons and waiting for many minutes and nothing happens. What i'm doing wrong? It's the elevator just decoration or some unfinished thing?

It's the narrator just singing along, at one point you can hear "I'm bored now" After that point I hit the button again and the elevator doors opened at the boss's office again.

I've never seen that elevator in either the normal route to the boss's office nor by unplugging the phone and then choosing the left door. How do you get to it?

It does nothing you can only go in and then decide to go up or down both won't move you it will just make the screen shake to get out click on the door.

Sometimes, the door opposite the double doors to the boss's office is unlocked. That's where it is.
Bonus fact: sometimes, the Executive Bathroom will be unlocked. Not quite as funny, but a giggle to be had there as well.

Actually, the thing that puzzles me in that room is the Time magazine with the clock set at 1:50... I can't help but wonder if I should let the game sit until the office clocks read that... or the backwards clock in room 417...

I've let the elevator go for about 10 minutes... the song and the Narrator humming along with it just seems to loop endlessly. I don't think it goes anywhere... but there are all those elevators in the escape pod ending... and running up the staircases showed that every level of the office itself had the same desk numbers and layout... maybe we're not actually exiting the elevator at the same level, but it just has the same appearance... maybe if we let it climb up high enough, the narrator would be with us for the escape pod...
