Can we agree that there is nothing there. Just go back to where you make your choice of left or right and choose left and continue with your ending (which I believe that one almost tops the Confusion Ending).

It could have been worse, what if the devs made the code words something totally embaressing! Like, "I peed myself"? Then we all would've looked like fools trying to find a secret that doesn't exist!

but you never knew about the secret camera i placed in the room to record you
I'm glad I've seen this thread... I now know I'm not the only one crazy enough to try talking to a game :Finger:
The actual joke about the scene is that Stanley is a silent protagonist, so it parodies the trope of ex. Gordon Freeman and Link never talking...except if you consider fanvideos or the latter with CD-i and the Zelda cartoons.

I don't think this is entirely true, according to the Narrator, he does talk. The only problem is that the narrator has to do the talking for him, seeing as how this is a visual representation of what could very well be a text based adventure game like ZORK or PLANETFALL.
I, like the idiot I am, sat there for ages yelling into my mic

the devs are a bunch or sardistic people who enjoy my suffering

The Narrator talking *for* Stanley wouldn't really count. Maybe it'd have been easier to not have a microphone?

I don't understand what you mean.

If he talks *for* Stanley since he narrates it, then Stanley does not actually talk. If it's about not having a mic, you'd be unable to proceed even though nothing happens when you attempt to speak into the microphone either.

A big spoiler is that Stanley cannot speak the code into the voice receiver if he's a good distance away from it.

But how does not having a microphone make things easier?

Because, you progress through the ending since the Narrator gets irritated from "you" not saying night shark 115. He even gets berated if you stand METRES away from the voice receiver, where it cannot hear your input.
