Yup and it's doing the same thing.
- I've tried 3 different mice. Deathadder 2013, Roccat Kone, and CM Spawn.
- Tried using my secondary monitor to see if it was a monitor issue
- I took my 780 out and tried it with a 680 + a couple of different drivers.
- I removed all of my overclocks
- I tried turning Hyperthreading off
- Moved files over to Samsung SSD from Corsair just to see if it was the SSD
- I don't think it's a Source issue with my computer because CS GO works fine and I even re-downloaded Portal 2 just to try a different Source game and it too is fine.
- PS: I tried capping my framerates below the refresh rate of 60 and I noticed it's far, far worse. I'm wondering if using a 120 hz monitor would make the issue go away. But then again you're finding it really weird and no one else has commented so I feel like there is something going on with my rig and the game.
If I use WASD it's fine but as soon as I move around with my mouse the screen jitters so bad that it's unplayable.
Any other ideas? =)
Here are my specs:
PSU: NZXT Hale90+ 850 Watts
Mobo: Asus Maximus V Formula Republic of Gamers
CPU: Intel Core i7 3770k @ 4.4GHz
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 16 Gigs @ 1600MHz, 9-9-9-24
GPU: Evga GTX 780 FTW @ 1137 boost
PhysX GPU: 4GB Galaxy GTX 680 @ 1215 boost
SSD: Samsung 840 SATA III 120GB
SSD: Corsair Force3 90GB SATA III 90GB
SSD: Zalman SATA II 64 GB
If you have a moment maybe you could try copying over 'engine.dll' from Portal 2/bin/ to The Stanley Parable Demo/bin/ - but I'm not sure if this will work & if this will solve the issue.
Tried copying over the .dll and it doesn't resolve the issue but the game does work, just crashes if you press 'escape' to get into the menu.
The second thing I decided to do was OC the monitor via Precision. So I oc'd it to 70 hz (couldn't get passed that) and it felt like it jittered less. I wasn't sure if it was a placebo so I then set it down to 50hz and it was noticeably worse vs the 70.
I find it strange that two seperate GPU's and monitors would have this issue. Any idea why increasing the refresh rate and thus framerates would start to smooth it out?
I'll see if my friend can bring his 120hz monitor over later today so I can test it out. I'll post the results here once I do.
Did you ever think to stop shaking your hands from all the excitment?
No jitter with the 120hz monitor. It's incredibly smooth.
It's really bizarre but whatever lol. I always wanted the Asus 144hz monitor for FPS games so I think it's a good time to pick one up.
