Here's a little twist: The demo shows you excactly how the game plays by covering the mere basics, I would explain in more detail, but it's more fun if you figure it out yourself
You think that none of the demo has to do with the Stanley Parable.
It does.
It HAS explained what the game is about.
To truely figure out what exactly was explained, you have to listen closely to the Narrator's words and try to interpret some of the things he is telling you.
CakeBread is an insanely clever man, he would never make something mean nothing.
It seems a lot of people complaining about the game don't really understand what illusions and mind ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ are.
Just play the first game if you are completely lost.
The ending of this Demo has exactly to do with the First one and I would assume the new one.
The elevator.
The long corridor.
It is all meaningful in some way.
The VERY end of the demo is the beginning of the full game
And yeah, that ending kind of terrified me. Not as in actually scared, but it gave me an unpleasant feeling.
i liked the demo but i gotta admit what you said isnt really the point of the original mod. you also saying you understand the original mod and go on to describe the demo.
in the original mod you can literally defy the narrator. it's a bit more complicated than that but essentially your choices have a great deal of impact on how the story plays out. you can even end up in someone else's story as the result of your actions. if you think about it from a game design perspective the game had multiple branching paths with several different endings.
it's fine if you want to say the demo parodies how little impact the player has on the story but that's not really what the mod demonstrated. sure the choices are intentionally limited in the original mod. you can argue all you want about that. however, you can make choices that completely change the story you experience. this is the opposite of what you have described.
i did like demo and i in fact suspect the main game will be more in the spirit of the mod so im not worried. i just thought id point out your error.
Yes, that guy. You know the one. I'm not saying his name.
