could you be less crpytic?

there are a few situations you must have set up to help you with this acheivement. Play the normal ending a bunch of times. Once you get to the office after so many times, the narrator won't have you input the code, but rather say what you were supposed to do in a hurried voice. After doing that a few times, the narrator wont even say anything, and the secret wall will just be open. That's the first thing that must be done. Second is all depending on how the game starts, if you start in the dimly lit room, AKA Blue room or where the whiteboard ending is, then you'll have enough of a time frame doing the normal ending in 4 minutes and 22 seconds. I haven't done it yet because I haven't been arsed to do so.

I could just be remembering incorrectly, but I think I was able to get the achivement even when putting the office code in normally.

The way I did it was to save the game near the ending, like at the button, then load the save and beat it.

Beating the game in 10 secs is less than 4m22s.

*This is assuming they didnt patch out being able to complete it that way

Yea, pimp, they patched that out considering I did save a the buttons, hit one, saw that ending, loaded and then did the other ending.

Another way to save time is to jump over the monitor room fences and on to the catwalks before they reach the top and open up.

saving and loading does the trick.

You have to go through the hidden door in the bosses office twice reload the game till you get to where the starting office is either completely blue or a hallway, male your way to the monitor room, crouch onto the chairs then get to the railing before it shows up, do it again then just get to the off button as fast as you can, or just load or whatever pfft...

Greetings from 2020. I finally got around to doing this today. You have two options:

1. Saves

From the menu enable saving by going to Options > Extras. Then, as the comments above note, you just save towards the end of the game and then reload, finish, and you'll get the achievement. I didn't do it this way so I can't confirm.

2. The "Right" Starting Point

There are a number of ways to improve your time. In the initial run, you can get between 5 and 6 minutes. The things you have to do to get it down to 4:22 are:

  1. First you need to start the game normally, go to your boss's office, and input the code. When you're let through the wall, go down the elevator (there should be a long narration sequence for this, it'll disappear later). Restart.
  2. Go back to your boss's office and the narrator will open the door faster for you (not quite fast enough yet), then take the elevator again and verify the long narration sequence while it goes down is gone (it should go down a bit, fade to load, then the door should be immediately opening). Restart.
  3. This is the weird part. The game has a number of different starting positions. The most common one is obviously Stanley's office, but you can also start in a weird side room where you have to go around a corner and down a hall to the left/right doors (this one will save you ~5 seconds, not enough time) as well as one other start directly in the hall to the left/right doors. You want to restart until you get this second start, so the next step is:
  4. Restart repeatedly until your game starts you in the hall directly leading to the left/right doors (I had to restart maybe 20 times?). You don't have to do anything between restarts, just restart, wait to see where you've started and restart if it's the wrong place.
  5. Run to the end. You should be able to step into the outdoors at the end right around ~4:18.

It only took me about an hour to figure all this out and complete the run, so with directions it should be pretty quick for you.

Cheers.
