The Stanley Parable Exposure; how the game went from based to toxic

So over the past three years, I've been in the Crows Crows Crows community Discord server, and let me just say' it's not too great. This game has went from Based to Woke in the span of five years. I am Jude Johnstone (Not Raphael, so don't worry no shoes), I used to be a prominent figure in The Stanley Parable Community,

The Discord & Community

One of the main developers William Pugh has in the past made unjustified threats to ban people all over a struggle to code doors in the boss's office, threatening to ban any user that had critiscism over it. and there have been countless incidents of harassment. The community is lopsided in"free speech" and even targets the vulnerable and misleads people. The moderation is incredibly unprofessional and will use any excuse if they don't want you in their server. The owner William Pugh who is SUPPOSED to be neutral and allow any political view has been caught reacting to posts with flags of commonly left wing symbols.

Crows Crows Crows shows themes of anti-religion, anti-life, and overly sexual themes. If there is one thing I can truly agree on with a certain user in there; Under 16's should definitely be banned. In mid 2022 there was a Roleplay channel created with little to no oversight or thought put into it, this resulted in multiple users including minors getting sexually harassed and manipulated. In Hindsight, I do not blame Dominick Johann for leaving the team after seeing what the community had become.

And instead of disclosing reasons for unexpected moderation, they will lie to you then completely ghost you and deplatform you from The Stanley Parable socials, at best you will get called mentally insane and asked to see a therapist despite the fact that people in the server at the same time have been seen saying that therapy is a scam; another excuse to exile users they see as bigots or just not what they would like their community to be. The rules in the server do not mean anything, in fact I am surprise they even bother with them. Overall the community is a hostile and sexual place to be in.

Fan Content

Where do I even start with this one? First of all if you're thinking of making a fangame of The Stanley Parable, DO NOT. These developers in early 2024 told me that it'd be fine to make a fangame for The Stanley parable in vague wording. I developed it, not being notified for months and months until late 2024 where I was suddenly banned, and the reason being that I was previously banned, even though earlier in 2024 I was told I was fine and welcome. This was just after I had emailed Davey Wreden with screenshots and also requesting the ability to list Steam listings for me and for another TSP Modder.

I had also started helping this community by restoring and upgrading The Stanley Parable Wiki, which seemed to be appreciated. However after the ban and ghostship, they soon revoked my administrator on there.

In terms of other fan content, everything else is allowed from Youtube Films to Patreon VR mods, just not fan games which intend to revitalise this franchise and be a labour of love.

The Game itself

The Stanley Parable was once a beacon of creativity, full of messages that everyone could agree on. However this has unfortunately been completely flipped in the latter trailers and the mobile "Paywall Ending" which explores themes of communism as opposed to anti-big-corp as the previous titles had. This small amount of content, while insignificant, completely flips the games narrative on it's head.

The developers have also been caught saying things in the actual server without much justification and claiming their canon. While this can be fine in some cases the context was major things that would've been much better off revealed via other ways. It was unclear if this was a joke or truthful.

I'll be looking into this further in the meantime, this is all the information I have thus far from experience and after digging into it a bit.

And I'm afraid this post signifies blind trust in famous individuals and shows lack of leadership/divergence skills.

The fact is; you'll trust McDonald's, you'll probably not care about giving personal info to big companies like many less fortunate people do.

The Stanley Parable's story itself is completely outdated and inaccurate, The Stanley Parable makes one major mistake, it sees the world as black and white. Everyone is making one crucial mistake, playing this game. And sadly the developers have forgotten this trope of the game as well, the game is becoming another meaningless anti-life comedy for individuals with a short attention span.

ok mr "be transphobic towards a member then be a huge ass when you reasonably get kicked out then harass people and mess with their stuff then mass ping and be nasty every time mods tried to ban you then get admin rights on wiki because admin didnt know about your history then make it as much about yourself and your stuff as possible before you get banned again which shouldve been expected considering youve ban evading multiple times and was ban evading even at that time then try to hold wiki hostage and delete & grief pages along with messaging literally everyone to go bother william about your ban before fandom staff stepped in and took away your admin rights & banned your fandom acc and rolled back the damage"
anyway uhhh if anyones reading this ive witnessed/was involved with like 80% of the events this guy is talking about and can confidently say this guy is an ass dont trust anything he says👍 like holy hell "based to woke" lmao

Please do not accuse me of transphobia, Printeriink. We was all angry and I was just trying to heal the damage that was done, which I did. Until the developers didn't like that we were making our own fan projects and had an excuse to get rid of me and subsequently threatened me with legal action unfairly.

The developers reaction to me after trying to help with the community was what angered me and bordered on buse, not you. I am sorry to the stuff I did to the sadly deteriorating community. The only reason I don't make a proper expose of The Stanley Parable developers is because I used to love the game.

If you people want something to get angry about, go ahead! I'll do you a favour by keeping this post undeleted. Keep shifting blame away from community management, soon people will see what I'm talking about, soon. Shame to see such a great game fall down the path of so many other franchises. This is just one small part of a greater battle for good. When you make something or achieve something, it should always be credited to the creator who spent hours on it in atleast one way. Another thing is the loss of belief of Individualism. And oh yeah by the way, I don't even care about Fandom, they are owned by a huge investement firm and shove advertisements down peoples throats, you're better off making your own MediaWiki fork. And there's a reason they removed Minecraft from the games ending, because of Notch. Notch wouldn't want The Stanley Parable round his game in this day and age if he knew all of this.
