Demo version disappeared!
Am I the only person which had both the demo version and the full game installed, and had the demo disappearing from my account today? I can't even add it back to my account from the store.

I created a support ticket about this already, but I was curious if anybody else is experiencing this issue.

Mine disappeared too. I was wondering what's up. It can't be redownloaded from the store page.

Here is a link to redownload it. Strange, the Telesgrad Demo is still in my library.

I'm just seeing a banner to buy the full game, Getlucky12341.

Aw... I am sad about this. This was one of the few games where the demo was a completely different experience compared to the main game.
This is a real shame, even if it dosen't come back I'd like to know at least why it's gone.

I can see the "Download PC Demo" link (steam://install/247750) on the store page, but it does nothing.

It is still possible to play. Go into SteamApps > common > The Stanley Parable Demo, or whereever you have it. If you try running the application 'stanley' you get an error message that the file 'GameInfo.txt' is not in folder 'stanley'.
All you need to do is rename folder 'thestanleyparabledemo' to 'stanley' and it will run from the application

The problem is: I don't have it.

You should as well click the banner, it sends you to the page. In other cases you can do what this guy said.

Valve is obviously breaking their system with new patches. It happened before with other games. The Stanley Parable Demo was made available for owners of the full game some months ago. Usually Demos get removed once you buy the full game. This fix has obviuosly been overridden by some recent patch. It happens all the time with software development of any kind. I hope they realize it soon and fix it again.

Never heard about that. Demo versions of all the games I bought are still playable. Only The Stanley Parable Demo is refusing to install.

As I said earlier, the store page doesn't work. As for greggles's solution, it's a nice workaround (thanks by the way), but it's very inconvenient considering you need the demo to be already installed in the first place, which I can't do anymore without using a dummy Steam account.

Hey guys, something in the recent steam client update caused the demo to offline and I don't know what it is yet. We'll look into it asap, though GranPC just went on holiday so we might have to wait until he's back to fully fix it. Sorry everyone, thank you for your patience!

Changing the name of the directory from stanleyparabledemo to just stanley allows the demo to work when you click stanley.exe. That's my solution anyway.
