Is it possible to beat the timer?
When I try to beat the timer, I look at the monitors and see the colored buttons with the number one on it, I think it's supposed to symbolize you press that colored button then one of the white buttons? I'm not sure, if it's not possible to beat the timer then, I'm sure it will be possible in ULTRA DELUXE.

I guess you just have to try a bit harder to beat that timer.

It isn't possible to beat the Countdown ending, or defuse the bomb, no.

However, maybe Ultra Deluxe will give you that possibility.

You can hit esc and quit the game before the timer runs out

It may not be the answer, but there maybe some clues to see if there is anything that would make us belive we can escape
