Just a thought I had (Freedom and Not Stanley ending spoilers)
I think that if any endings qualify as winning/correct/the most positive, they're both the freedom and Not Stanley endings. Also Stanley's goals are the opposite of what most player's goals are.
Stanley regains control of his body and goes outdoors after defeating his evil boss in the freedom ending, but the player has to follow the narrator's orders and go through a linear, slow, repetitive experience. In the Not Stanley ending the player wrecks the game and narrator's feelings through repeated defiance and then gets the real game's credits after being ejected from the whole game, but Stanley is left ending-less and unable to move in a glitching office.
Usually in games the protag and player want the same thing but in this game it's really never about what Stanley wants as much as what the player and narrator want.
Also the narrator intended on and worked hard on the freedom ending, but is crying in the Not Stanley ending.

So what I'm saying is
freedom = Stanley and narrator win, player loses
Not Stanley = Stanley and narrator lose, player wins

So my question is--
Which one is truly the correct/best ending?
Who should achieve their goals in this game, the player character the game was made about, or the player playing this game the way it was intended to be played at some point?

it's when you open the maps in the hammer editor from portal-two-authoring-tools-beta and have p2 and p2atb update and now you can't use hammer on that anymore and life becomes hell and everybody loses and
