The TRUE Number of Endings in This Game (SPOILERS)

In order to figure out how many endings there are in The Stanley Parable, you should first ask yourself, "What qualifies as an ending in this game?" And to me, an ending in The Stanley Parable is a scripted sequence where the game either takes you back to the start automatically, or prevents you from making anymore choices or doing anything of significance, forcing you to restart from the beginning manually.

With that in mind, I came to the conclusion years ago that there are 19 genuine endings in this game. Firstly, I do not count the Whiteboard and Broom Closet scenarios as "endings", since you can still make more choices after seeing those things and get an actual ending. Secondly, I count the "yes" and "no" answers to the "Are you sick of this gag?" question to be separate endings because once you click one of them, you cannot click on the other to see what it does without restarting from the beginning manually, which, as I've established earlier, qualifies as an ending. Thirdly, when you get taken to Portal, you can do a glitch to get the big cube stuck behind the door, trapping you inside, which is carried over from the original game. Because the narrator says he does not intend to open the door for you if you trap yourself, you are prevented from actually getting the Games Ending and have to restart the game yourself, which again, qualifies as an ending. Finally, there is an instance in the mind control facility where you can get on the desk with the light switch and then fall to the bottom of the facility. I do not count this as an ending because the narrator makes no comment on it and nothing else happens if you do this. Therefore, it is clearly an unscripted event and does not count as a genuine ending.

So with all of this in mind, here is my list of actual endings in this game:

I get the feeling you didn't look at the paragraph where I go over certain things in this game that I do and don't count as endings and why. In any case, the dancing secret isn't really an ending in my eyes because you can still proceed through the game normally after that and get either the Countdown Ending or the Freedom Ending. The same general logic applies to the broom closet and whiteboard scenarios. Plus, I count the two choices you get after you jump out the window to be two separate endings because once you click either yes or no, you cannot check what the other option does without restarting the game manually, which is one of two ways I believe a scenario in this game can qualify as an ending (the other potential qualification being the game restarting on its own).

I think you're just blindly following the word of a random video of someone playing the game. Meanwhile, I'm thinking for myself and with logic.

I've 100% completed the game and every ending for myself, the video was just a way for you to watch since you don't seem to be fully aware.

Randomly deciding that 2 of the endings don't exist is just you living in denial. This is a pointless conversation if you're simply making the choice to be willfully ignorant.

Someone pinned it, that means either a moderator or developer, someone with at least a touch of official authority agrees with the number and pinned it for all to see.
