Crashes and what is Reshade?
I have a powerful computer that can run games like Cyberpunk 2077 on Ultra settings. However, this game will crash every now and then, which is especially frustrating when the run is a contender for a high score. I don't think that I've ever played an Indie game that crashes this much.

Mara had pinned a topic about crashes that are possibly caused by ReShade. I've search these forums, and this question has been ask before, but with no real answer.

So I ask again here; What is ReShade and how do I disable it?

Also, what else could I do to help prevent future crashes?

Hi,

ReShade is a generic post-processing injector.
In short, ReShade can heavyly modify the visuals of games (and more)

With everything that is capeable of major changes, it can destabilize as well.

Cheers!

Thank you for the response. I just did a search in my programs, and as far as I can tell I don't have reshade. Mara made it sound like that the game automatically came with it.

Do you know what else could be causing these crashes? Just FYI, I am using the default launch option. Should I be using Forced Dedicated GPU or Open GL?

Forced Dedicated GPU is most of the time for Laptops, which have a CPU integrated GPU and a seperate one. You force the game to use the seperate one.

OpenGL can make your game more stable in some cases, when you have trouble with the basic API.

It depends heavy on your Hardware.
While faster or "better" not always means stable.

If you didnt had any troubles before and you didnt changed the hardware, you might try OpenGL.

Still, you should make a detailed submission to CC via email, with your crash reports.
The more they know about this, the more stable the game can become.
