Spectral Fists Specialist

Any insight on this one? I haven't been able to finish it or really understand it. Hit 500 enemies for 25,000 or more and over damage counts. Most I can get the fists to hit for is like 3k.

Do I understand correctly that fists simply don't have rank 9 and rank 10 traits? Done 2 runs with them already, done all 3 masteries - yet at level 8 they just stop.
