Is Berserker's Blood even possible?
So, I'm almost done with all of the challenges currently in the game.
The one I have trouble with is Berserker's Blood, the one you need to kil 2222 enemies in 5 minutes in the frozen hall.
I've tried all kinds of builds and artifacts, I've read guides, I've watched youtube videos of people doing it.
No matter what I do, I end up in the same ballpark of ~1700 kills. Regardless of whether I have enough DPS to wipe everything off the screen as soon as it spawns, or if I have to grind through each enemy for seconds, the numbers are always about the same.

Did the recent update rebalanced and messed up spawn rates?
Is Berserker's Blood still possible?

Yeah, I tried, multiple times.
Ended up in the sam ~1700 ballpark every time.

so it took me 3 trys to figure out how i would do it (well i have done it but it was so long ago i forgot)

artifacts used : sands and banner

shards used:

the feet are the more attackspeed when walking
the hands are the 60% multistrike
the chest is the undying version
the head is the dmg + force warchief
the neck is the force duelist
the rings are the + flat dmg ironrings

what you do is you spawn you pick needles you ban EVERYthing that is useless
HP Defense parry etc anything that doesnt buff your dps is garbage and goes in the bin

you then dump most if not all your reverbs and whatever the other stuff is called in needles
and well voila your there

as you can see on the screenshot there is still 11 seconds more time for more kills and i was allready over the 2222 when i clicked the screenshot button

My wild guesses:
You either move to frantic around and despawn enemies behind you, which results in less kills.
Your range is to short and you kill enemies in close proximity only.
You just lack enough dmg.

If you do another run, you could share a screenshot of your End Result.
This can give some ideas what went wrong.
And if you have lots of quests remaining, you can also come back later to this one, when you are stronger.
Not sure what kind of RNG it was just now, but after countless tries, the last run I was severely under my regular pace for the first 3 minutes, but then I suddenly racked up enough kills, with almost half a minute to spare! :steamhappy:

Thanks everybody for your contribution :-)

For anyone looking for tips/hints I believe you should be standing still as long as possible after you got the key traits. I took sage's mark and burnt a lot of potions to blitz to level 24 + key upgrade (Phantom Needle, fork-on-crit upgrade). then it was mostly letting the mobs concentrate around me
+1 seems like maxing out Phantom Needles is the best way to do this one, just did it on the first try, after failing some other random builds.

Can't seem to get enough mobs to spawn. I went with the Phantom Needles build, i got 1952 kills by the 5min mark, and it's not because I had to kite and couldn't kill, i was like melting mobs from early game. I also chose Scales of Pain and Restless Wheel for more dmg and mobs. Any other ideas?

The kill requirement DOE NOT have to be met in the first 5 minutes, any time window will do.

Put all your Shards into % Damage.

Pick Mark of Knowledge
Vision Crown (Fixed) > (Switching)
Duelist's Spark (Area) > Damage (if you havent lvl it, pick Blood Catcher (Enhancement)
Wooden Ring (Boost)
Copper Ring (Boost)
Blood-Soaked Shirt (Undying)
Pace Setter (Unrest)
Quickhand or Hunting Gloves

Artifacts (ideal)
Hastening Sands
Restless Wheel
Torment Banner
and any one like, as long as enemies die fast

Weapon Proficiency
Fury I-IV + Storming I-IV + Strenghten I-IV (Sage)
Proficient Stance
Elements I-IV (sage)
Dedication
Open Mind I-IV (Double Potion on Open Mind I+II)

Take both Dedication Tier V or banish them.

Double Potion on Ethereal Shift B (Physical)
Take A (Equilibrium)

Ring Blades - Upgrades: Cyclone > Crippling Blades
Strong - Fast - Cruel - Fast - Strong -
Cruel - Strong - Fast - Strong - Cruel

Phantom Needles - Upgrades: Phantom Split > Phantom Fetters
Fire Rate - Puncture - Pinpoint - Punctrue - Fire Rate -
Pinpoint - Fire Rate - Puncture - Spin - Pinpoint

Morning Star - Upgrades: Unleashed Stars > Butteferly Swing
Multistar - Handle - Chain - Handle - Multistar -
Chain - Multistar - Handle - Multistar - Chain

Dragon's Breath - Upgrades: Heat Blast > Stream of Fire
Coverage - Reach - Incineration - Coverage - Coverage -
Incineration - Coverage - Coverage - Reach - Incineration

This works even w/o any shards.

Focus on Upgrading Ring Blades first, then Phantom Needles.
Banish everything related to defense to clear your pool, Blood-Soaked Shirt will keep you alive.

Ok, I'll admit i was bamboozled by the quest tracker that stops after 5 mins. It doesn't seem to work afterwards for the real 5min window to calculate your kills, it just stops at that certain value.
I'll try using your technique, thank you very much.

LE: and it worked on first try! Thanks alot. Did it in the first 5 mins, went Ring Blades.

Been bashing my head at this one for the past few days but this finally saved me; don't have all the specific equipment or enough shards but was able to squeeze through in the first 5 minutes barely. cheers

This achivment is limited to 5 min at the start of the mission, so you need to focus on early game damage

I'm pretty sure that's not true. I got 2k kills in first 5 minutes then 5k kills in the next 5 minutes - did not complete.

On a different note: does the agony level affect how many enemies are spawning? I have all the artifacts that affect spawns directly, clear screen with no problems but it's always not enough. If the agony affects it, I could easily add 10-15 more artifacts. But from what I saw it doesn't seem to have any effect on the amount of enemies.

Did you checked the Quest Tracker that you hit the 5k?
I've got multiple reports of people, who got this while killing the basilisk, since in this time window lots of trash mobs try to swarm you.

It does.
Restless Wheel will boost Agony early on, which can help to manage this Quest within the 1st 5 minutes.

No, I noted the kills counter in the bottom right on the HUD. The Quest tracker was 'stuck' at the amount I reached in the first 5 minutes.

Oh, that's nice, I'll grab more artifacts and yeah the Restless Wheel seemed like a potential good pick. Thank you!
