"Face of Regret" impossible to win after some time
I have a question about the artifact "Face of Regret". In my game, it says you lose 1% damage and effect damage for every 50 enemies killed, however on the wiki it says you lose attack speed and force instead.

I just had a run where I made it pretty far but during the final 4 minutes I started to deal literally zero damage to enemies. It was impossible to win because I wasn't able to damage the bosses (I had the artifact that gives you 3 bosses).

Is this artifact being changed or what? I don't understand why it says something different on the wiki, maybe that's on the experimental version? slowing down attack speed would certainly make this more fun than reducing damage.

Hello there,

the new version of this has indeed -0.2% Attack Speed and Force avaible on the Experimental Branch.

If you use this Artifact you want to either compensate the stat loss via Torment Shards or you make use of Scaling Items, that will outscale the loss over time.

Cheers!

Yeah I figured so, but still when you reach -100% damage there really isn't much you can do. At least if it gets replaced with attack speed loss, you still have some attack speed left, even if it's incredibly slow. But with a damage reduction there's a limit unfortunately

If you combine War Chief's Visor (Damage) with Blood-Soaked Shirt (Undying) you can reach +500% dmg alone.
If you dont try to use FoR on Haunted Caverns, where you cah nreach 100k kills, you are good to go and will never go into the negative range.

i am actually more concerned about the new Variant.
With 100k kills on Haunted Caverns this would mean -200% Attack Speed and -200% Force where both are harder to come by.

On the other hand, no one forces you to make a build that kills that much enemies.
Usually your Build is finished around lvl 80-100, which is reached pretty early.

How do you even reach 100k kills in Haunted Caverns? Is there some artifact that increases the spawn rate of enemies? (other than Hastening Sands and Torment Banner)
I've done several Torment V runs and I can only ever get to around 50k, even with strong builds that cover the entire screen. I'm trying to do the quest where you gotta kill 66,600 enemies but I'm unable to do it.

Pick Sage with his own Mark

Vision Crown (Switching
Duelist's Spark (Area) > mine is at ~150% Area Bonus
Iron Ring (Growth)
Wooden Ring (Growth)
Blood-Soaked Shirt (Undying)
Pace Setter (Unrest)
Longfinger Gloves (Growth)

Put your Shadrs into Attack Speed > Crit Chance > Force > Multistrike > Damage

Hastening Sands, Torment Banner, Archeologist's Thread, Restless Wheel, Malignant Mirror, Demonic Accolade
Optional: Curse of Commitment, Scales of Pain, Demonic Cube, Idol of Hunger

Use your Double Potions for Dedication - Open Mind I + II + IV
Use your Memory Potions for De - Focus Mind + Open Mind and WP - Spread + Strenghten

Banish all 5 defensive Traits (Vitality, Metabolsim, Parry, Thick Hide, Bulwark)
You can banish both Proficient Stance Traits as well to make room.

Dedication V +50% Ability Drop Chance
Ethereal Shieft A + B (Equilibrium)

Ring Blades - all Upgrades
Cruel > Strong > Fast

Phantom Needles - Phantom Split > Phantom Fetters
Pinpoint > Fire Rate > Punctrue

Arcane Splinters - Arcane Unrest > Arcane Shivers
Split > Piercing > Charging > Power (Tier IX)

Transfixion - Amputation > Crippling Cuts
Deadliness > Cadence > Spread

Morning Star - Unleashed Stars > Butterfly Swing
Chain > Multistar > Handle

Lightning Strikes - Explosive Strikes > Concentrated Strikes
Capacity > Conversion > Conductivity

Important!!!
Dont upgrade your Abilites straight away and always keep 1-2 Ability Scrolls on the floor to pick up a new Ability. It can happen that you run out of traits to pick, since you will be over lvl 100 before the 10 min mark.

Upgrades
1+2 Ring Blades - Cyclone > Crippling Blades
3+4 Aracane Splinters - Arcane Unrest > Arcane Shivers
5 Morning Star - Unleashed Stars
after that from top to bottom considering the Priority

Only move when it is neccessary.
You want to stand still as much as possible to increase kill efficiency.

If you lack Uncommon Equipment and/or Shards, you can try the
"Physical - Feel the Steel" Build frome here:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3172296902

This should yield ~80k kills, thanks to Ring Blades.

For that I 'equipped' two artifacts, Hastening Sands, which is the crucial one, and Scales of Pain as other one, since it increases dmg of enemies by 50%, and the hero by 100%, thus forcing the game to spawn more monsters. :)
