Shield Mastery III Achievement - How do I get it?

I've been trying for a while to get this achievement, but I can't get anywhere near 3 million damage with the shield bash. The most I've gotten is around 2 million. Any tips on how to get it? It's one of the last achievements I haven't gotten. Much appreciated.

Quick tip:
You can do this on map 2. Deactivate your auto attack and use Shield bash ONLY.
Push your Block Stat as high as possible.

I managed to do both shield and sword in one run by using no Abilities. probably alot easier if you have the right gear + xp bonus though

I tried it on the 2. map, without any abilities, focusing on damage and (collecting) exp. Fast movement is nice to have because you have to avoid big groups of enemies.

Map 3's ghost walls at 10min and less are always a blessing for meter padding, so much so that you could probably pad the entire 3mil on them if you were persistent. Just don't pick up any Slows (Ring Blades, Transfixion upgrades) so the walls don't start splitting up too much.

I didn't deactivate my autoattack at all, I think I'd just focused on abilities to soften up enemies or prevent me being overwhelmed like Arcane Splinters, and maxed Range+Cone+Block Strength every chance I got.

Thank you so much for all your inputs. It helped me get the 3rd Shield Bash Mastery. It also helped me understand Shield Bash better, so while testing, I’ve concluded that the following traits affect Shield Bash (might have missed some):

Quick Hands 1-5
Strength 1-5
Parry 1-5
Collateral Damage 1-5
Bulwark 1-3
Vanguard 1-5
Weapon Proficiency 1 (Shield)
Weapon Proficiency 1 (Mace)
Weapon Proficiency 2 (Mace) - Prerequisite for 3 (Shield) below
Weapon Proficiency 3 (Shield)
Proficient Stance 1 (Dexterous)
Dedication 2 (Striding)
Dedication 3 (Stalwart)
Dedication 4 (Striding)

No effect with Multihit, Piercing, Crit hit chance, Crit damage.

The ring Echoing band WORKS and it's worth it, whereas Copper Ring and Wooden Ring have no effect. Ring of Fire and Ring of Thunder proc with Shield Bash, but the damage is counted separately as Burn- and Electrify damage.

If you’re in doubt regarding Speed working properly, you can see the Shield Bash icon in the right panel while in a game. If Speed blessing or trait is working properly, you’ll notice the starting point of the visual “timer” has moved according to the percentage.

Edit: Oh yea remember to use your 3 potions "Reverberant Tinkture" on some of the traits, nice with 3 extra freebies :)

Thanks, I got it easily after I posted this and didn't look at the comments. The key was to turn of auto atack, other than that it's pretty trivial

You can also use potions of memory to grab both Shield and Mace versions of Weapon Proficiency traits.

I got this as my last achievement, didn't have any Block equipment, just took all upgrades that added Block Strength and went to the spectre wall in Act 3. Did pick up some skills accidentally while killing some of the pesky mini-bosses, but didn't pick any upgrades for those skills until ~lv86, at which point I had already gotten the achievement (~5 minutes before the timer ran out, so I had time to spare). IIRC I had ~80 Block Strength at that point.

I did it this way:

- Pick gear with max. block strength to increase shield bash dmg
- enter map1
- do not pick up abilities (until u got the achivement)
- Pick block strength whenever possible on level up (atk speed, vanguard, collateral also very useful)

worked on the first try; was super easy; i didn't need to deactivate auto atk
