How to increase the number of torment shard rewards?

There is a quest in the vault where you get 6.
Basically, you get 1, so do you have to sacrifice money to get 5 increased rewards?

That option doesn't seem to come out very often, and if you increase the difficulty too much, it's pretty hard...


I just got 3 on the 3rd map, is there another condition that increases the rewards?

Hello there,

on every 4th Tribute you get a guaranteed Extra Shard.
So pumping in 20 times gives always a minimum of 6.
Also, drops increase with time spent in the Vault, not sure how though.

I got ~12 shards wilth 20 Tributes when killing the Lord at ~31:00 Minutes.

Using the mirror artefact in regular agony mode also provides additional drops.
