About Spellcaster Gloves (Hyperfocus)
I was recently experimenting with these gauntlets and I must say that they are kind of underwhelming.

The description for Spellcaster Gloves (Hyperfocus) are:
When not using Main Weapon:
+400% Damage * 0.66 per active ability

Now, I had originally interpreted this as being +400% of the damage from her main weapon which sadly wasn't the case. The first ability that you pick up will only get a damage buff of 264% Now this wouldn't be so bad except that the description is a little misleading as it also reduces damage per ability upgrades. And let's be honest, no one is going to pick an ability without evolving it. But by the time you have fully evolve an ability, the damage bonus from Spellcaster gloves is kind of mediocre and in my opinion not worth it.

Thoughts?

You got caught in a bug issue, but the gloves still suck.

This is a bug. Unfortunate, yes, but shouldn't be factored into if they're good or not. Upgrades should not be counted. This is an unfortunate consequence of "upgrades" actually being abilities in their own right (in the code). We don't see that because they're "hidden" behind the base ability.

Silly of you, to make this mistake, as someone who has played so much. :P

Ignoring the bug, I still agree with this statement. +Damage% is the most accessible stat in the game, and the more you get the more worthless more is. Blessing's alone net you +100%, let's say a hundred shards and you've now got +200%, throw in the basic trait and you've got yourself +250% which is roughly what you get from these gloves. (We will ignore Blood Catcher here as it renders any and all (other) bonus damage% pointless) Committing an entire equipment slot to bonus damage for such a small gain (Double +250% is only a net gain of +71%) is a big feelsbad. This item would fare MUCH better if the first ability was free (+400% with 1 ability (net gain of +214%) then decreases from there).

The balance in this game is, largely, completely shot. I often say things like "all abilities are valid" (applies to items too), because they are... but they are far, FAR, from equal in strength. It's getting a lot better now with the (mostly) removal of base stats, I imagine overtime, some of these will get tweaked and balance them out some.
