What's the build for vault 9 minutes?

I cleared my first vault with shield maiden.
It took me about 29 minutes, and I didn't think I would die because she's pretty sturdy, but it didn't seem like I could get her any faster.

I think 9 minutes would be too much even if I went more aggressive.

I haven't gotten the Fencing Gauntlets yet, but is it possible to get 9 minutes by holding them and standing next to the spider?

I read the explanation on the wiki, but I'm not sure.
Does it mean that when you block, your main weapon attack (which has a 100% critical hit chance) will activate? It doesn't seem that strong.

Even if the crit dmg is 1000%, is putting in 10x dmg at 50% really that strong? The mace damage itself doesn't seem that high.

I actually did the 9 minute speed run with Shieldmaiden. The trick is the uncommon Fencing Gauntlet, and I think either version is fine. And also equip the Boost version of block helmet, boots and armor, then pay for only 1 Vault modifier (hope you'll get a good one). Pretty much nothing can harm you, even the Lord. Just try to pick up all the abilities and summon the Lord, then stand right into his face and watch him kill himself.

The Crit variant is way more reliable than the Multistrike variant. Don't know how well the Multistrike is working, did it with the Crit one and, as adamaxes said, all the Boost Block items. The first 3 minutes get in some levels and boost Block traits asap (use your doubling pots!), then just do your round for the four orbs and go into the mid.

Yes, standing at an enemy and blocking is really, really strong. I did a lot of my quests with that build because it's realiable and chill. You retaliate in an area around the blocked enemy and later you get a trait where this area is nearly half your screen. Half your screen smashed with a lot of damage, on every block you do. Imagine taking the Ghost artifact... you are constantly blocking and doing damage, by standing still.

Maiden with 100%-crit Fencing Gauntlets made this idiot-proof for me. I spent the first 3 or 4 minutes just leveling up with Radiant Aura while getting her Block Strength up. Then I broke the orbs and went for the kill with ample time to spare.

I used Defiant Plate + Blood Catcher + Helmet (growth) + Iron Leggings (growth). I didn't have the green Crit Bonus rings or Chainmail. But I was fine.

Sage with warrior mark, 50+ shards invested in damage, main ability ring blades, secondary needles. rings 100% crit chance & 100% crit bonus, blood catcher necklace with 0.2%dmg, bloody shirt with 0.5% to heal from 1% dmg dealt, 20% speed boots, 20% speed helm, 30% atk speed gloves.

circle strafe centre area, get crit chance, crit bonus, strength, pickup range, focus on ability dmg, double up on attack speeds.

I did it under 5 minutes with beast huntress, using all my potions early. For equipment I used uncommon copper ring, uncommon wooden ring, running shoes and duelist's spark.

I'm sure if I wanted to I could get a much lower time but I was winging it since this achievement isn't hard to get once you have a lot of unlocks and achievements for bonus xp.

I may come off as stupid but I've never been able to get the green/uncommon variants of items back to the main hub? How can I equip one straight away?

Yeah just did it like this earlier today. Only had multistrike version of the gauntlet, but it still worked out. I spent the first few minutes leveling up, around minute 3 I started slowly progressing towards orbs. Between 6 and 7 minutes I was done with that and headed towards the boss. Beat it with 10 seconds left to spare. What 'almost' made me fail were the upgrades given to me with that holy thing that drops an item every 30 secs if you get hit. Sometimes you get the upgrade that makes you unhittable and move fast, but that also means you can't block and counter.

Well, I'll probably do a few more vault runs to get all of the achievements for it and then never again. Just need 15K kills, 4 torment shards, 4 active mods and spend 150K gold total (I have 200K with nothing to spend it on so that's not exactly an issue).

You might also miss it, depneding when you last killed him.
There was a bug where the Artficat didnt drop.

I get normal Fencing Gauntlet, and clear vault at 6 min...

I cleared it using the Exterminator with the Cleric mark and lightning strikes. Only had about 5 seconds left, but it worked. Make sure to choose the lightning upgrade where it attacks the highest health enemies, so it's always targeting the boss. And of course some luck.
