Is this a glitch? Could be somewhat useful.
Just finished the Exterminator challenge for applying Frost 100K times in a run (barely made it in the final seconds) and killed the boss and went to the well to transfer some of the uncommon goodies I got. Among which there was a Vision Crown with a Switch effect (100% range when standing still, 60% area increase when moving).

Anyhow, I put the crown directly from my head slot into the well and sent it up. Then I sent a few more things up. And then when I walked back I noticed that the effect was actually still active. Moving enlarged attacks and standing still increased the range.

So apparently, when you send something through the well the equipped effect will still be active. Could be useful if you really want an item to send above, but also want to use it in the same run because it's useful. I do wonder if it may be possible to equip something else after that and still keep the effect. I'll try it out next time I play (or you're free to test yourself).

There are quite a few instances of things like this. I didn't know about the well one, though I question how abusable it is because you will almost certainly lose the effect if you equip a different head piece? Did you test for this?

The most common one that people encounter (and can be used to great effect) is the elemental rings. They only apply their effect on equip, they do nothing on removal.

So you can equip 2 elemental rings, swap them out (for non-elemental rings) and retain the elemental effect from the previous 2 rings.

The downside of this is that once you equip an elemental ring you can never return to your original damage type for the rest of that run.

Well, I've tried a few times, but I've not been able to replicate it with other items thus far. First did it with the fencing gauntlets (crit version) and the moment I sent it up I lost the effect. Also tried it with the holy relic and I also lost the effect. So perhaps it's only exclusive to certain items that increases something like range and size.

Also neat thing I found out is that after sending something up the well, you can find it again in a chest and it shows the text 'sent up' rather than 'owned'.
