Shield Maiden Trait Question

I'm kind of confused about this Shield Maidens this trait and what it actually does.
Weapon Proficiency V (Shield)
+200% Damage (Shield)
-100 Base Damage (Mace)

Maybe someone could clarify how this trait works because to me this should increase the damage done by Shield Bash while reducing damage done with the War Hammer melee swipe attack.

But I took this trait with my last double up potion and my Shield Bashes went from doing 35-40k crits to doing less than 10k crits while at the same time also reducing damage done by the other swing aswell. Basically it reduced all damage I did with all attacks, is it bugged or is it simply not worth taking the trait to begin with because if its detrimental to both attacks the trait is affecting why would you ever want it?

Shield Bash is unable to crit and scales with Block Power.

From what you describe, it sounds like you looked at crits from the Mace and the dmg reduction would totally make sense, if you strap 200 Base Damage from the Mace.

Damn, I actually totally didn't realize Shield Bash couldn't crit. No wonder I could never get a Shield Bash focused build off the ground. No matter what I tried, Mace always dealt much more damage lol.

Oh ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.. I can't believe how much I have misunderstood this character just from that info alone.
I hade totally missed that fact.
That means I missunderstood why my crits kept increasing in damage when increasing block... which ofcourse came from the Mark that uses Block as a mulitplier for damage.
I also read the Achievement for "Critical Prowes" to deal 33333 in a single hit wrong and it wasn't a follow up for "Bloody Shield" to deal 20000 with a single Shield Bash. Not only does Bloody Shield not need to do it on 1 target like Critical Prowes it doesn't need to be from a crit either.

All of that for me to think the crit that gave me the Critical Prowes was the shield bash.... well now it all make sense...
