Direct Damage = Physical, Magic, Fire, Lighting, Ice from Main Weapons and Abilites.
ALL sources for %Damage will always affect Dircet Damage,
but NOT from Elemental Effects (Burn, Electrify, Frost) including Direct Elemental Damage.
Strenght has no Damage Type or Attribute (like Physical, Melee, Projectile),
so it will affect all Types.
Would you like to know more?

Cheers!
To illustrate, I'll use Shield Maiden as an example:
SM is a physical and melee type fighter.
Her Weapon Proficiency: Shield only affects her main weapon. However,
Her Weapon Proficiency: Mace will affect anything that has melee associated with it, including her main weapon. This makes her class/ mark ideal when taking abilities like Flame Strike or Ring Blades ect.
So even though the base trait Strength sounds like it should apply to anything physical, it actually applies to anything and everything.
